    Lawyers are known to be some of the smartest people on earth but this time round a few of them were caught pants down and beaten at their own game.

    This was during a court session at Mwanga 2 Court in Kampala on 11 December 2023 when the defense lawyers were cross-examining Simon Tumukunde, a witness on the case of defamation and trespass against Pastor Robert Kayanja and his Church.

    Like they are known to do, the lawyers submitted to the witness a photocopy of a statement he is alleged to have made and signed which the witness Simon Tumukunde denied, and thus the lawyers thought they had gained an upper hand since the witness had refuted.

    However later as proceedings went on the original statement was brought and the witness acknowledged that he had made and signed the statement which pinned the accused of planning and actually attacking Rubaga Miracle Center with the sinister motive of tarnishing Pastor Kayanja.

    This saw lawyers Humphrey Tumwesigye and Robert Ojambo change strategy and ask Grade I Magistrate Adams Byarugaba to expel the witness from the case an appeal that was sent to the trash can.
    Tumukunde stuck to his guns acknowledging that he made the statement and signed adding that he had also been taken to the hospital for an anal checkup which turned negative implying that he had never been sodomised

    AS witness number five, Tumukunde stated as below and this was both as a state witness and during cross-examination
    Minus a few glitches that are known to occur once one is on oath in the Dock, Tumukunde neither batted an eyelid nor put a foot wrong as he stuck to his statement

    “Together with Joel Kalungi and Kisekya, led by Reagan drove to Kampala and found Pastor still preaching hence waiting at the reception,” Tumukude who worked with five of the eight accused at Pastor Kayanja’s farm in Kiryandogo said.

    “After the service, Pastor asked us why we were in Kampala and who we had left taking care of the farm. Reagan replied that we had financial problems and we needed some money urgently.”

    “Pastor Kayanja asked us why we didn’t call first but we had no answer and he told us that he would contact us after securing the money.”

    After three days, we were called and each was paid four million shillings by a supervisor called Fred Kisitu who told us that he would call us back to get the balance.

    “We left the church premises happily and afterward, Reagan called us again to pick our balance. We went and signed for 1.7m each, and everyone went to his place.”

    After a while, Reagan called his colleagues and told them that he had talked to Pastor Kayanja, and agreed on a way forward of going back to work.

    “We went to Church and we found Magumba Aggrey at the checkpoint who asked us if we had an appointment. Reagan told him that Herbert Ssembatya was expecting us.”

    “Immediately after accessing the premises, Reagan, Alex Wakamala, Kagoro Martin, and Moses started shouting that we had come to be paid money for being sodomized.”

    “A commotion erupted and I withdrew, it was at that moment that I pulled Kisakye to the side and asked him what was going on and he told me to stay calm but I opted out and walked out of the church’s premises.”

    Tumukunde went on to say he later got a phone call informing him about the arrest of his colleagues. “The other phone call that comes in from one Aggrey Kanene telling me to find him at Kawempe Police.”

    “I found him with two other individuals who identified themselves as Jamil and Israel Wasswa and they asked me if I knew Pastor and those who were arrested.”

    With the family house in Kituntu, Butambala district almost collapsing and the aunt who baby seated pastor Ssenyonga dying unheped , the family members are questioning the curse they are under going as the man of God looks on.

    The immediate family members are now seeking help from well wishers to help them save the situation by treating mzee Keeti Kitta 81 who raised pastor Jackson Ssenyonga from the age of four when his mother late Ritah Nakalema separated with the poligamous father.

    “Our jjajja Kitta is helpless. She is locked out side the small house belonging to a grand relative in Kanaaba for security reasons. She is sick and can’t manage her self. She craws around like a baby but it shouldn’t be her to safer that way having raised our uncle pastor Ssenyonga” cried one of the relative.
    When this writer visited the old woman, she was regrating her efforts raising Ssenyonga.

    She said she is the one who kept all the family tittles until 2006 when the pastor asked her to pass them to him for protection.

    ” I went with Ssalongo Kityo one of the successor and owner ” she says.

    Kitta lives a miserable life and some members now seek any well wisher to help her in any possible way.
    A neighbor said that some times she behaves as if possessed crawling around the village pathes when left alone.

    Another relative to both Ssenyonga and Kitta, ssaalongo Kityo Paul Katetemera 40, said the whole family is now stuck in burdens.

    He said he withessed his grandmother Miss Kitta hand over their tittles and regrets why he didn’t smell a rat by then.

    He said the land tittles of family land with a collapsing house where ssei him self was born in Kituntu, Butambala, another tittle in Lukaya to which Kityo is the owning successor and a third one around Lukaya were all wrongly confiscated by Ssenyonga.

    ” If probably we had access to our property we wouldn’t be grassing. Mind you people are encroaching on our land, electricity transmission and telephone mast contractors wanted to pay us but the man has kept our tittles maliciously” said ssaalongo Kityo who rides an old Boda Boda at Katwe.

    He said he is now trying to use a lawyer to atleast get his tittles although Ssenyonga is still adamant.

    ” I was 13 years when I succeeded my late father and a brother to Ssenyonga, now am 40 and a ssaalongo but the pastor rejects me handkiy my own land tittle. The other tittle of the family in Kituntu which formerly belonged to Ssenyonga’s father was inherited by another grandson Jonathan Kyeyune who is a mature adult but still the pastor is withholding the tittle” narrated Kityo.

    Another elder brother Noah Katabalwa but who was originally Fred Ssenyonga but dropped names over disappointment whom the pastor follows said he resorted to riding a bicycle Boda Boda around Owino maro to get a destitute’s living after Ssenyonga refused to push-start him.

    ” I recount how we suffered together in Katwe, Juuko zone with my brother before he became a pastor. Some white man took me to Russia to train in computers but I didn’t find a job. That’s when Ssenyonga invited me and reaching here he turned his back against me” he says.

    Katabalwa said he now lives a loner with no wife or children in a rented room in Masanafu and wonders at people who say Ssenyonga is generous when he can’t help his own people.

    But when contacted recently, pastor Ssenyonga told the press that it’s true he has the family tittles for a purpose.

    He said those relatives who want them should follow proper family channel other than legal.

    He said he fears others want to start selling that land.

    Dear Mr. Kungu Al-Mahadi Adam,

    My attention has been drawn to your recent article titled, ‘How False Prophets Have Declared Another War Against Jackson Ssenyonga, A Senior Pastor In Uganda For Exposing Them.’
    To quote a few sentences from your article above, you stated that: “As a journalist, [you are] desperately concerned about the manner, the structure and the tone in which the stories are presented and what exactly, the media houses want to achieve.”

    You also argue that the media is writing consistent and screaming headlines about the ‘good’ prophet!

    It is okay for you to smear a cancerous wound with Vaseline, and I can’t blame you for attempting to protect your boss at Top Radio and Top TV from the current spotlight.

    However, in your attempt to shield Pastor Ssenyonga, you must remember that the cardinal role of the media is to inform the public by reporting the truth and shine torch on the injustices affecting society.

    It is also important for you to know that a Pastor, given their place in society, must be above reproach.

    Yet in your bashing of the media, you forgot to mention that it is not the media practitioners that told your ‘good’ pastor to lie to police in an attempt to protect his bodyguard from the long arm of the law over grave criminal offences.

    You also failed to mention that it is not the journalists that told your so called ‘good’ pastor not to pay a businessman sh5.2b, a matter that is subject to a court process, which the media is under duty to report and inform the public and Christians that religiously follow the ‘good’ pastor.

    Mr. Kungu, as a journalist, kindly explain whether it is wrong for media houses to report cases before court?

    Or since it is your so-called ‘good’ pastor under spotlight, all media houses should just fold hands and look the other side as the poor businessman wallows in misery.

    Instead of tarnishing the media, Mr. Kungu, the debate should be on the veracity of the issues that the media is raising.

    First of all, Pastor Ssenyonga accepts that he owes the businessman sh5.2b. In his own words he said that he had two options: to pay the sh.2b or leave the court process to take shape.

    Now that the court process has generated the heat, your ‘good’ pastor has hired you as a mercenary top gun to bash the media that is ably reporting the court proceedings.

    As a journalist, Mr. Kungu, I also expected you to highlight the plight of your fellow journalists that your ‘good’ pastor employs on his Top radio and Top TV outlets but never pays them, with some going into two years without pay!

    So, if you can’t even highlight the plight of your workmates, why do you bash other media outlets that are highlighting the plight of your fellow journalists?

    Therefore, Mr. Kungu, instaed of sugar-coating the cancerous smell at Christian Life Church, just accept that of recent, the born-again church has been put in the spotlight over controversies that Pastor Ssenyonga created himself.

    Ssenyonga as the lead preacher at Christian Life Church has failed to live a life that is above reproach at the pulpit and off the pulpit.
    These activities have attracted consternation across the board.

    At the moment, the controversial pastor is battling several court cases including non-payment of staff at his Top TV as well as the robbery charges against his close associates.

    Pastor Ssenyonga is also renowned for attacking fellow pastors, which many have seen as a smokescreen to hide his flaws.

    However, the court processes and battles have turned tables on him, and the media should be given the room to report these events.
    The way out is not to hire mercenaries such as you, Mr. Kungu, but to repent and make good of the dirty practices.

    For instance, recently the media reported that following a suit against him by his Top TV media staff for non-payment of their arrears, he acknowledged through court consent to pay them in instalments.
    This was a good move.

    However, these instalments, most of which cover just two months, have also been challenged on grounds that he insisted on deducting 10 per cent of the fees from Top TV employees on grounds that it goes towards tithe.

    So, it is not the media to blame. It is your ‘good’ pastor that should be blamed for doing bad and expect the media not to report the bad.

    Therefore, it remains to be seen where Ssenyonga will go from here but all indications point to a dead end and an expose of the pompous life behind the so-called men of God.

    Christian Life Church lead preacher and owner of Top Media, Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga is in the spotlight again over none payment of salaries to his employees

    The latest from Bwaise is that workers of Top radio and TV who had chosen to lay down tools over nonpayment have called off the strike.
    This was after Ssenyonga agreed to clear a fraction of some of the arrears.

    Following Uganda Communications Commission and other government authorities involvement in the media house issues, employees were paid two months salary each irrespective of one’s arrears.

    The said arrears were ranging from two, three and the highest at six months depending on when one joined.

    “The exposing the rot there, things are slowly getting to normal. For now, it looks good from far and our prayer is that it’s not far from good,” Gabriel Buule, a media personality renown for fighting for journalists’ rights
    Sources who spoke on condition of anonymity said that Pastor Ssenyonga deducted tithe offering off the arrears a thing that rubbed many in a wrong way.

    Media personality Alex Bareija, alias Emeka Romantic Mukiga revealed that one of his friends who worked at Top TV made a shocking revelation to him.

    “In that place (Top Radio and TV), a friend who worked on Top Radio told me that after 8 months of demanding salary, the pastor met each of them to pay but would first deduct tithe from the salary and pay the balance,” Emeka revealed.

    Last year, Rick Ashaba, a former presenter at Top TV has dragged Top Media Group head Jackson Ssenyonga and general manager, Ronald Mubiru to the Labor and Social Development ministry over unpaid salary arrears.

    Just like many out there, Ashaba was allegedly sacked by above mentioned after demanding his salary arrears worth over Shs 5 million for ten months.

    “I am not a very poor journalist but I want to fight for my rights and save other journalists from being exploited. Many of my colleagues have worked and left Top Media Group cursing and some hate the journalism profession. This impunity must stop,” Ashaba noted last year.

    Letter reference number MGLSD/LC/307/2021 signed by Hilda Nakagga on behalf of commissioner labour, industrial relations and productivity summoned Mubiru to respond to the complaints.

    Pastor Ssenyonga is also battling a case of breach of contract against a city businessman called Bisaaso at the commercial court where the latter sued him for 5b

    On 4th May 2022 New Vision run a story on the start of the Hearing of a 5B case against him. It appears he breached a contract with a business man a one bisaaso and went as far as issuing bounced cheques.

    This is not the first time the God is involved in scandal.

    He is known to have openly told the president of Uganda that Pastor Kakande had a mass grave underneath his church.

    Then years ago he was in the spotlight for having molested an underage girl while on an international flight.

    A number of times he has been in the spotlight for going months without paying his employees at both Top radio and Tv but sources have it that he intimidates them into not pursuing the cases before the courts of law.

    A man known to att ack his fellow pastors like; Kakande, Bujingo and Kayanja, Sseyonga is also battling a case against his own family members over property.

    Just a few days ago Tamale Mirundi was on a local Television and stated that Pastor Ssenyonga claimed to have donated food during the covid lockdown through his ministry and yet he had actually got the food from the National Task force on covid.

    His head of security called Waswa is currently battling against a case of Aggravated robbery and Ssenyonga is said to have stated before police that he was actually with waswa the day the alleged robbery is said to have taken place.

    However a number of witnesses put waswa at the crime scene.

    Just last year he tried to use a group of youthful men to attack Rubaga miracle centre with allegations of non payment and sodomy.

    Turns out some of the men had criminal cases against them in Kiryandongo.

    Ssenyonga was also accused by a group of pastors who stated that he had told them to collect lump sum amounts of money and once collected he would use it to solicit for more funds from the president for them.

    It didn’t come to pass.
    The list is endless but the Man of God should know that you can lie man but you can’t lie God.

    It might be easy to manipulate the judicial or any other system in the country but it will not be that easy on Judgement day.

    In Daniel 5 in the bible a mysterious hand wrote on the wall MENE MENE TEKEL PARSIN.

    Daniel interpreted for King Belshazzar and it meant that his days were outnumbered as he had been weighed by God and found to be wanting.

    According to Tamale Mirundi, the man of God based in Bwaise was among those that distributed food during the lockdown but however contrary to claims that he was giving it out through his ministry the food was actually from the National Task force on Covid under the office of the Prime Minister.

    While appearing on a local Television Mirundi insinuated that the Man of God deserved to be in the coolers preferably Kitalya Prison.

    “When the food relief program ended, he also stopped giving out food which was of the some poor qaulity like that from the supplier the government contracted.”

    Tamale added that Ssenyonga is stingy Pastor with a dark soul who shames the church and God.

    “He was a beggar too. That shameless man didn’t even give his mother food. Ssenyonga is one of the false prophets. I have evidence and I will expose him one day.”

    Pastor Ssenyonga has been in the spotlight over a number of controversies including when he gathered a number of pastors and told them to contribute money so as to get more funding a thing that didn’t come to pass.

    He is also known to have thrown a lavish wedding for one of his children albeit going months without paying his staff at Top radio and TV.

    CID Officer Faces Arrest For Making Fake Reports Demanding DPP To Exonerate Pastor Ssenyonga Guard From Robbery Chargers

    The high Court was in the shock after the State Prosecutor Jonathan Muwaganya found out how Rwizi Regional CID officer Topher Gimei made a fake a report to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) urging them to exonerate one of the bodyguards of Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga over aggravated robbery charges.

    According to Gimei who appeared before the court to defend the suspect in the case where three guards; Ali Ojulango, Godfrey Mwanda, Israel Waswa and a Chapati Maker Ivan Wanyama at Pastor Ssenyonga’s Christian Life Church in Makerere Kavule are accused of aggravated robbery.

    According to prosecution, on June 8, 2018, at Christian Life Church the accused were armed with blunt objects and robbed Sam Mukula of his mobile phone worth Shs35,000, cash Shs 500,000 and during the scuffle, they caused grievous harm to their victim.

    Prosecutor Muwaganya noted that the victim was one of the Church members who always congregated at Christian Life Church and at the time of the robbery, he had gone for evening prayers.

    We should note that last week, Israel Waswa one of the key accused gave rise to Officer Gimei as his defence witness who made the report to the DPP that he should be exonerated.

    According to Gimei, he told the Court that on August 8, 2018, while serving as Kampala Metropolitan North Regional CID Officer, he got a complaint from Waswa that he was being persecuted by the investigators in the same case file and under the influence of the complainant who wanted him joined on the charge sheet.

    Gimei indicates in his reports to the DPP that by the time of the incident, Mukula who had come for prayers had instead become a ‘nuisance’ to the rest of the church members since he was shouting, banging tables trying to beat up whoever tried to control his actions.

    His report again indicates that when Mukula’s unbecoming behaviours became unbearable he was advised to go out of the church and he resisted however after a long persuasion he left the Church.

    Unfortunately, on his way off the church premises, he met Boda Boda riders who mistook him to be a criminal and started beating him and he fell from the main road to a valley within the church compound.

    “Worth noting however is that when this entire scuffle was going on, Waswa Israel was not present at that place of confusion. Neither was he among the church security who advised the complainant to go out of the Church”, said Gimei.

    However, after hot cross-examination by Mr Muwaganya, the court discovered that Gimei’s report was not handed over to the court in the case file of the whole case, a practice which was considered either fraud or corruption of the highest order by a high-level officer. Officer Gimei also failed to explain to the court how he came to make a conclusion recommending the exoneration of Waswa.

    According to Muwaganya, Police Officer Gimei is a fraud and the report he made is a result of a fraudulent concoction manufactured from the streets.

    Fear engulfed Gimei when prosecutor Muwaganya gave him a police file where he wanted him to prove where he got the contents of his report because, at the beginning of submission, he was claiming that his report was premised on the original police file.

    In total dismay, both sides the prosecution and defence finally agreed that Gimei’s report was not submitted in the court since it was made based on false information to lure the DPP to exonerate Waswa.
