    The battle between Hajjat Hanifah Karadi and Faridah Nambi in Kawempe North is not about to end. The latest on our desk has it that 97% of Hajjat Hanifah Karadi’s team won LC3 councillors posts against Nambi’s. The highlight being Nambi’s PA Nazziwa Resty losing to Karadi’s coordinator Madina Mutesi as Woman Councillor LC 3 Kawempe 1.

     

    Hajjat Hanifah Karadi challenged Faridah Nambi’s NRM flag bearer victory for Kawempe North before NRM Election Dispute Tribunal which is yet to announce the outcome of the petition.

     

    Karadi told this website that she will not give up on the battle to rescue the people of Kawempe North from underperforming leadership.

    Supporters of Hajjat Hanifah Karadi are increasingly frustrated by the Tribunal’s delayed action on the petition sighting foul play.

    2026 Updates: Likambo Bahti Taylor set for Kibanda North MP seat on independent ticket

    Kibanda North MP hopeful Hon. Likambo Bahti Taylor has finalized his plans to contest for the post of Member of Parliament for Kibanda North in Kiryandongo District.

    Likambo who contested amongst the candidates in NRM primaries and did not win told this website that the polls were marred by bribery and intimidation of his supporters on the night before election.

    He said his supporters were bribed and all his agents bought out on the night prior to the polling day.

    Mr. Likambo Bahti Taylor is determined to represent Kibanda North Constituency in the 12th Parliament

    He said together with his camp, they have already collected all signatures needed to contest on the Independent ticket in next year’s Parliamentary elections.

    He said he will hit the ground again to continue mobilizing for support after picking nomination forms. Watch the space!!

    Mr. Musinguzi Johnson Byarabaha who lost in the recently concluded NRM primaries for Sheema County South MP seat has released an official statement about the polls. In his statement, he decried bribery and fraud that engulfed the polls and called for reforms.

    However with that fraud in mind, and the unfair process, he revealed that Team Googoro shall continue to mobilize
    masses on how to make the best choice for themselves, their children and grandchildren for a bright future.

    Below is his full statement; “Greetings to all our people of Sheema South. We thank you for turning up to vote in the
    elections on Thursday. Those that voted in favour of #TeamGoogoro from Murama, Bihanda, Ruhorobero, Irashagye, Bigona, Buzima, Kagorogoro, Rukararwe, Rwenkurijo, Nyakabirizi, Kimondo etc, THANK YOU!

    This election provided an opportunity to the people of Sheema South to elect a candidate who had the best plan (Marshal Plan) to develop the area as outlined in our manifesto and during
    candidates’ joint campaigns. That candidate was; Musinguzi Johnson Byarabaha of TeamGoogoro.

    However, this opportunity was sacrificed in favour of cash bribes that were being given out by camps of other candidates. We have evidence on record which involved buying off our agents on the morning of voting and leaving Team Googoro candidate without representation.

    Those bribed to vote did so at the expense of their future that includes their children and great grandchildren. History will absolve us. With that fraud in mind, and the unfair process, TeamGoogoro shall continue to mobilize masses on how to make the best choice for themselves, their children and grandchildren. This process starts NOW and will not end until Sheema South is liberated from the whims of
    beyendezas (selfish) that have superintended over the continued backwardness of our area for

    Hon. Kibaaju Charity Kamuhanda, the new political queen has caused political tsunami in Mbarara City as she was yesterday declared the winner for NRM primaries for Mbarara City Woman MP seat.

    While many thought she was just playing, the Kibaaju wave was the real deal.

    In yesterday’s final results for Mbarara City Woman MP seat, Hon.Kibaaju Charity Kamuhanda pulled 13421votes against incumbent Hon. Ritah who got 11784, Hon Bonnie got 11768 and lastly Hon. Vanice got 1309. This confirms Ms Kibaaju Charity Kamuhanda as the official NRM flag bearer for the 2026 General Elections after drowning all her rivals heavily.

    This is indeed the beauty with brains. Charity aka Enyonyozi Ya Mbarara (Mbarara’s shining star) will now embark on official campaign for the final polls slated for next year.

    Like she said after launching her political bid, Kibaaju wants to restore the lost glory of Mbarara City. Overjoyed Kibaaju is yet to release official congratulatory message as the celebrations kick off in Mbarara City.

    Sheema South in Sheema District voters are looking into changing the leadership as the NRM primaries take place this Thursday 17th July 2025.

    Mr. Johnson Musinguzi Byarabaha under team Googoro is battling for the seat with Veteran politicians Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu and Prof. Elijah Dickens Mushemeza.

    Voters are seeking to change leadership and give youthful politician Mr. Johnson Musinguzi Byarabaha to lead Sheema South from 2026.

    During campaigns, his message has been mainly on job creation for the youth and increase of income for citizens dubbed “cash omunshaho.” He has also promised to work on infrastructure especially roads, then health and education.

    His message has resonated well with the youth, and many think he will beat the professors and Tirus Abaho this Thursday.

    His rivals and incumbent Prof Mushemeza and ex MP Prof Kamuntu have been tested leadership wise and voters are eager to change and have fresh blood to push the constituency forward in terms of development.

    Mawogola West MP seat hopeful Mr. Katerega Uthuman Mwanadamu has called for free and fair elections in the upcoming NRM primaries due in 6 days.

    Addressing the press yesterday, Mr. Katerega revealed that one of his opponents accessed his CV and endorsement forms from the NRM Electoral Commission and has since been circulating his private details online. He also added that even contacts of those who signed to support his candidature were harvested and misused.

    He urged the NRM party leadership and all security agencies to guarantee a free, fair, and peaceful election process in Mawogola West.

    He also condemned the intimidation of his supporters by his opponents describing it as a cowardice act.

    Voters who were present think that his manifesto presentation was the best attempt to solve the issues of Sheema South.

    Kibaaju nicknamed Mbarara’s shining star (Enyonyozi Ya Mbarara) was accompanied by thousands of supporters from across the city as the new political queen of Mbarara promises to restore the city’s lost glory.

    President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who also doubles as NRM Chairman has spoken out on the just concluded NRM primaries and the solutions to curb rigging. Below is his full statement;

    The NRM fraternity.
    Greetings and congratulations on the massive turn-out. You showed the world what democracy means. I congratulate those who won. I also congratulate those that did not win but who participated.

    Unfortunately, there are shallow people who resort to shallow schemes to steal the power of the people. These do the following: bribing, intimidation, altering declaration forms, even attacking and injuring people, using the underage to vote, importing voters from other areas etc.

    These are all shallow schemes that are easy to expose. The 2nd Law of Moses says: “Thou shalt not worship idols”. The emphasis put on DR forms is worshipping idols.

    The real thing is what happened in the village. 200 legitimate voters lined behind candidate “A” and 100 lined behind candidate “B”. Similar exercises happened in the 606 villages of Luwero district, for instance. The elections are finished.

    The rest is simply totaling up. It is an exercise in futility for anybody to create a new reality on DR forms that is not in the villages. Anybody who participated in such transparent criminality commits fraud and the sentence for fraud is 3-5 years in prison. This crime is easy to prove because in the example of the village X we used, there are 300 witnesses – the 200 that voted for A and 100 that voted for B.

    Therefore, the aggrieved candidates, get facts from a sample of villages from your village agents, who must speak truthfully otherwise they will also be charged with aiding and abetting a fraud as well as making false declarations, the Police will cross-check and criminal proceedings will be initiated.

    The same with other crimes- bribery, intimidation, assaults etc.; just get facts. We should not allow crooks to pollute our massive force that you saw yesterday. Down with crooks. I am not Tanga Odoi but my entering from the criminal side, which is my Constitutional duty as President, will help Tanga Odoi. Help us with the facts. Congratulations again. Ykm.
