Spice set to headline Safari Beats Concert in Kampala This December

Africa One Tours and Travel Limited, through its lifestyle and entertainment brand Safari Beats, has today officially announced the upcoming performance of Jamaican dancehall superstar Spice in Uganda, scheduled for December 6, 2025.

The announcement was made during a colourful media launch at Serena Hotel in Kampala, where organizers unveiled the broader vision of Safari Beats, ticketing details, promotional materials, and exclusive first-look campaign assets for what promises to be one of the most iconic music experiences of the year.

The December concert will showcase a powerful blend of international and Ugandan talent, headlined by Spice, widely celebrated as the Queen of Dancehall, who will be performing live alongside Uganda’s most celebrated female artists Cindy, Sheebah, and Winnie Nwagi. Together, these queens of the stage will deliver an unforgettable performance that highlights not only their individual artistry but also the strength and vibrancy of music as a cultural force in Uganda.

Safari Beats represents a new kind of entertainment experience, one that fuses Uganda’s vibrant music culture with its tourism potential. It is not just about live music, but about telling Uganda’s story through a lens that embraces heritage, creativity, and exploration. In line with this vision, Spice’s visit will also include tours of Murchison National Park, the Kasubi Royal tombs, Bulange Mengo, Namugongo and other cultural and heritage sites, amplifying Uganda’s image as the Pearl of Africa. By merging music and tourism in this way, Safari Beats aims to showcase Uganda to the world as both a stage for global talent and a destination of unmatched beauty.

  • Naalya residents excited as Carrefour Market nears opening

Naalya residents excited as Carrefour Market nears opening

Residents of Naalya, Kyaliwajjala, Namugongo, Kira, Kireka, Bweyogerere and the surrounding areas will in the coming months have even more reason not to move to the city for shopping as a Carrefour Market will be opening upshop in their locale.

Dates for the official opening haven’t been announced yet. However, what is evident is that preparations to have the store serving the community before the new year are in high gear at the Naalya-based Metroplex Mall.

The mall that was opened in 2011 was last year sold to Gateway Delta, a Mauritius based company as a redevelopment opportunity. Already, there are several companies, both local and foreign that have booked space at the mall. The exciting of them all is the Carrefour Market. This will be the second store to be opened in the country by the Dubai-based Majid Al Futtaim Group. The store is renowned for its diverse range of products as well as low pricing and as such, residents of the area need not trek all the way to Oasis Mall to get the same service.

The location of Metroplex shopping mall is ideal from a retail point of view, especially with the construction of the new access road from Kyaliwajjala-Naalya road, its proximity to the Kampala northern by-pass and affluent areas of Ntinda, Naalya, Namugongo, among others.

Currently, signage has been put up all around the Metroplex Mall showing that the Carrefour Market will be opening in the area soon. Construction work has been ongoing at the complex with the parking lot complete and a number of other businesses already operational.

The Carrefour market in Naalya is expected to offer employment to about 200 people.
