    Commends Huawei Team on Miss Uganda Sponsorship

    Miss Uganda Leah Kagasa on October 25th 2016 paid Huawei Uganda heads a courtesy visit aimed at commending Huawei on partnering with the Miss Uganda 2016 pageant.

    The reigning beauty queen came along with Sharita Maruti – Miss East, Ritah Mutoni – 2nd Runner up and Brenda Nanyonjo, CEO Kezzi Entertainment Ltd and Founder Miss Uganda Foundation. After a tour of the Huawei Uganda offices, the ladies were taken through Huawei’s work ethic and among other key personalities met with Wang Hua, Deputy Managing Director – Huawei Technologies Uganda, Stanley Chyn, Managing Director – Huawei Technologies, Uganda, Ayo Sam Cris, Device Services Manager – Huawei Uganda, Allan Kyobe – PR Officer – Huawei Uganda and Patrick Tongyunpeng, PR Manager -Huawei Uganda.

    Speaking during the visit, Sam Ayo, Device Service Manager, Huawei Uganda explained that Huawei is honoured to support Miss Uganda 2016 using the Huawei P9 phone. He explained that being a fashionable and trendy phone, the Huawei P9 is the perfect companion for Miss Uganda 2016.

    Ayo mentioned that the Huawei P9 features two rear-facing camera lenses made in conjunction with Leica Camera AG, he noted that the P9 camera comes with more light and better clarity and better photo editing capacities that enable one to capture detailed high quality pictures both in good and low light conditions.

    Miss Leah Kagasa, Miss Uganda 2016, who is the benefactor of a Huawei P9 commended the smartphone on its beautiful photography, storage capacity and easy to handle hardware.

    Huawei Uganda contributed a sponsorship package of 20 Million Ushs worth P9 smartphones and cash towards the organization of the Miss Uganda 2016.

    The theme for Miss Uganda 2016 is beauty with a purpose with an inclination to promoting agriculture as part of their agenda.

    The tycoon   appointed her through the voice of Miss Uganda Foundation and confirmed this when he hosted the beauty queens at Buziga on Sunday.

    Miss Uganda 2016-2017 Ms. Leah Kagasa won herself a brand new Huawei P9 smartphone, beating 20 other contestants to the title. 1st Runner Up was Simple Kyohairwe, while 2nd runner up was Rita Mutoni.

    All the 4 regional winners also won themselves brand new smartphones from Huawei to include Miss North – Joan Odung, Miss West – Teddy Mukunzi, Miss East – Sharita Maruti and Miss Central – Shamilla Nakyanzi.

    While speaking on the side-lines at the Miss Uganda grand finale held at Serena Victoria Ball Room on 15th October 2016, Marketing Manager Huawei Uganda Jean Baguma said, ‘Huawei has contributed a sponsorship package of 20 Million Ushs worth P9 smartphones and cash towards the organization of the Miss Uganda 2016.     Tooro born Leah Kagasa, a student of Marketing at Makerere Business School (MUBS) is the new Miss Uganda 2016/17, we can confirm.

    Kagasa took the crown from Zahara Muhammad Nakiyaga after she was declared winner by the judges early yesterday morning at Kampala Serena Hotel beating off competition from the other 20 contestants.

    Leah Kagasa who hails from Tooro was crowned Miss Uganda and has been hailed as brilliant.

    Who is Leah?

    Leah Kagasa is a daughter to Paul & Florence Mutwamu Nyakazingo, both teachers at Kyebambe Girls School in Fort Portal. She is a mutooro & mucwamba by clan.

    She studied at Buhinga Primary school in Fort Portal Kabarole, Bweranyangi Girls’ School in Bushenyi & Maryhill High school in Mbarara. Leah joined Makerere University Business School (MUBS) where she did Marketing and is graduating later this month.
