  • Sheebah leaves Viewers wanting more with a stellar performance at the Nile Special Sponsored UG Connect show

    The Uganda National Cultural Center (UNCC) in partnership with the Nile Special put up the biggest Uganda Connect Virtual Concert live on NBS TV under the hashtag #UGConnectConcert that starts a few months back as Uganda celebrated 59 years of independence since 1962

    The online concert had over 20 artists on Saturday for the next 52 weeks. Comedians and DJs equally entertained guests that will be watching in the comfort of their living rooms and smartphones. The concert celebrated dependence on each other, and that was the gospel throughout the show.

    Top-notch singers like Sheebah, Ziza Bafana, King Saha, Irene Ntale, Nince Henry among others were the entertainers of the day.

    The concert also preached vaccination, wearing masks, and observing all the COVID-19 SOPs.

    Party goers in Uganda should pace themselves for the new luxury outdoor festival dubbed ‘East meets’ West’ that is slated to take place on August 17th at Lugogo Hockey grounds.

    Happening for the First time the event is an afro fusion day festival is an annual event that will be bringing East and West African creative’s together to not only create art but also make magic happen through music.
    The event that is sponsored by Johnnie Walker highball is a mixed bag of East and West African artists from Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria with acts such as Nigerian star, Myokrun, oxlade, karyn, Irene Ntale, Lagum, king saha among many more artists that are lineup for the Festival.


    Aside from musical acts, the event will also include cultural presentations with opportunities given to fashion vendors, food vendors and arts and craft stalls and cultural exhibitions including a lineup of some of Uganda’s coolest DJ’s like DJ Simples and DJ Teyi and many more .
    Advanced tickets to the event are going for UGX60,000 Sold at House of Walker at the Kampala Sheraton and UGX 100,000 at the Gate.

    It was not business as usual last night at Blankets & Wine as Formula 1 and the Premiership stole all the “limelight” from city slay queens who are the usual source of attention at the picnic style event that takes place throughout the year at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.

    At first glance, the crowds were sprinkled all around the venue, strolling and taking sun-kissed pictures until attention was turned to the Johnnie Walker tent with eyes glued to the screen as fans watched Formula 1 and later a Premiership match between Manchester United and Chelsea.

    The Johnnie Walker tent was a hive of action as fans of Formula 1 were treated to a live feed of the Azerbaijan Formula 1 race and a match between Manchester United and Chelsea that had revelers glued to their seats with just echoes of cheers and grumbles resounding throughout the tent.

    “We wanted to do something different this time around get the guys out and I am more than happy that we managed to lure them out” said Roger Agamba International Spirits Brand Manager, Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL).

    The Johnnie Walker tent also featured a silent disco that kept the beautiful ladies occupied as the gents switched their attention to the Premier League match between Manchester United and Chelsea which ended in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

    The event that took place at its usual spot the Lugogo Cricket Oval also featured Silent Discos and performances from South Africa’s Shekinah, Uganda’s King Saha ,Myco Ouma, Joseph Sax, Lamu, mixes from DJ Crim and many others.

    Legendary singer Jose Chameleone has described claims by fellow singer King Saha that he wrote some of his songs as rubbish. Posting on his social media platforms, Jose Chameleone warned Saha and Calvin that they may run mad soon for claiming his music.


    The ‘Mulilanwa’ singer made the claims while appearing on UBC Television. Below is Jose Chameleone’s full statement;

    Calvin Calvo from our National Television UGANDA hosted one of my Favourite Ugandan artiste King Saha a while ago. Whom I was told claimed to be the writer of some of my greatest classics. Now, Both the presenter and Artiste need to walk out of such a silly dream and assumptions!!! You two will run mad soon.
    Stop clinging and diluting people’s hard work with your mediocrity.

    Ugandan people have tried to rob my credit away from my Gods blessed hands. But amazing how God still lifts me above all the hate and greed you all expose in broad day light!! Shamelessly.

    I have written all and produced most of my music so pls ask those alleging,Come and borrow my magic.
    As for Mr. Kingslove 😂😂😂😂😂 You are a great Artiste who has more of your songs to claim. You never wrote none of my songs as people have said you claim.

    I love and respect you bro. Let’s keep it positive and live example to the others.

    There will never live another Chameleone because my story and music was a perfect portrait of my imagination.

    Coke Studio Africa reveals music acts drawn from across the continent set to feature in the new Season hitting TV screens in 2019

    Following a successful launch and the production of the 2019 edition of Coke Studio Africa in Nairobi – Kenya, The Coca-Cola Company unveils over 25 of Africa’s talented artists set to feature on the upcoming new season dubbed ‘Coke Studio Africa 2019’.

    Music acts and producers drawn from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Nigeria and other countries across Sub-Saharan Africa will set your mood right come next year, Feb 2019 –when the show hits TV screens across the continent. Once again, lovers of the show will experience new and exciting music fusions; from covers to throwbacks and original compositions. 

    Uganda will be represented by top award-winning diva, Sheebah, returning on the show for her second time. On the show, she will be joined by popular Ugandan music acts including Fik Fameica and King Saha. As “Vimbada” Kenyan hitmaker Moji Short Baba will be making his Coke Studio Africa debut alongside Naiboi, currently riding high on his smash hit single “2 In 1’’; Kenyan hip-hop heavyweight Khaligraph Jones, recently crowned Best rapper in Africa at 2018 AFRIMMA Awards will be making a return to the show for the second time.

    From Tanzania, BET award-winner Rayvanny and top bongo balladist Nandy will grace the show for the second time. Some exciting new comers on the show from Tanzania include Harmonize of the “Kwangaru’’ hit fame and Juma Jux, the celebrated bongo R&B sensation and Mdee Music signee Mimi Mars. A roaster of first timers on the show from Ethiopia includes celebrated songstress Mahlet, to seasoned crooners: Bisrat, Abush Zekele, Yared Negu and Rophnan Nuri.

    The West African flavor on the show this season will be injected by celebrated music producer GospelOnDeBeatz and Nigerian music stars Skales and Rudeboy (formerly of P Square) as they light up the stage with groundbreaking performances and hit records. Production of Coke Studio Africa 2019 is ongoing, with artist duos and music producers creating music that will connect people across the continent. It will include over 10 original compositions and a unique Coke Studio Africa Christmas playlist set for Dec 2018.

    For the first time in a show of solidarity, Uganda’s top selling artistes have come together in a music collaboration geared at endorsing the candidature of the NRM flag bearer and incumbent President H.E Y.K Museveni.

    In a gesture of unity, the artists who are the biggest role models to Uganda’s Youth segment have come together to throw their support behind the ruling President.

    The high tech collaboration and music video entitled “Tubonga Nawe” will be unveiled at an exclusive VIP Reveal Party at the plush Speke Resort Munyonyo tomorrow.

    The dinner which will be attended by all Ugandan Press and celebrities including Artists, Socialites, Fashionistas and opinion leaders will see the unveiling of this monumental musical production by H.E the President himself. [adrotate banner=”3″]

    Speaking to members of the press, the 14 artists that worked on this monumental song spear headed by Dr. Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool and Juliana Kanyomozi expressed their joy at working together for a common cause.

    “The adage that two heads are better than one comes to life in this phenomenal production. We each gave this song our unique sound to produce perhaps Uganda’s greatest hit for a while to come,” Said Bebe Cool.

    “I love the chemistry that came together as we each lent our genres and voices to this production. It was truly phenomenal” added Judith Babirye.

    Other artists on the production include Judith Babirye, Pastor Bugembe, Mun G, Rema Namakula, Radio and Weasel, King Saha, Haruna Mubiru and Iryn Namubiru.
