    Kampala: Sunday Night at Torino Bar and Restaurant was one that can only be described as ‘Lit’ coupled with fun and adventure as hundreds of thrill seekers and party lovers turned up for the second edition of the Tusker Lite Kampala Night Run.

    Runners reported to the start off line by 6:30 pm and raced through the glowed up three km route within the uptown nocturnal streets of Kololo and back to Torino Bar and Restaurant in clear excitement to complete the run.

    Elisha Mugabi who came in first place was excited about having won the race, not forgetting the first and second runners up, Moses Kasuule and Kizza Moses.

    Revellers were also given a chance to participate in friendly competitions placed under the neon categorywhere social media users voted for; Most Stylish Runner, Most Stylish Squad, Best Running Shoes, Most Stylish Gear and were given Tusker Lite Hampers for properly adhering to the theme of the night.  

    After the run, the finish point was transformed into a colourful affair with the glow-in-the-dark theme ruling the street as partygoers showed off their dance strokes. The highlight of the night came in from the Winnie Nwagi and “Party People Crew” who kept the crowd in dance mood throughout on top of the many spirited performances that came in from Irene Ntale, Pallaso, Hit Nature, B2C soldiers, Roger Kent, Wendy amongst many others.

    “As Tusker Lite, we are all about pushing boundaries and I believe we have made a signature mark in Uganda with what we have witnessed here today. The Tusker Lite Kampala Night Run is a unique adventurous event that suits our consumers who look out for fun hip moments, we will be bring more of this next year,” said Cathy Twesigye, Brand Manager Premium Beers.

    By all measures the event which was orchestrated for fun-lovers and moonlight fitness freaks gave participants the opportunity to jump out of their comfort zones and join in on an exciting new experience for the evening.

    As the second edition of the Tusker Light Night Run draws closer and closer, anticipation and excitement about the event is already creating FOMO among Kampala party animals and thrill-seekers.

    The event slated to take place next month on June 02 has left a trail of wagging tongues talking about what a fun filled night it should turn out to be. While the exciting promotional activations for the event, which are taking place at different night clubs around Kampala, are getting many to understand that the organizers mean business.

    Organizers of the run are dishing out free tickets to the event in a “Spot and Win” promotion where Tusker Lite devotees found sipping the smooth-tasting beer brand are handed a free ticket to the 3km glow-themed fun night run that will start and end at the Torino Bar and restaurant.

    So far, top bars in Kampala such as Valhala, Ceilo and Sky Lounge, have been visited with this week’s targets are at Hide Out and H2O for a chance to have party lovers participate in a thrill-filled run.

    Talking of the Night Run itself, it is by all measures an event for fun-lovers and fitness freaks to be excited about. Besides the experience fun and glowing night run within uptown nocturnal streets of Kololo, after the run the runners will immediately switch into revelers at Torino Bar and Restaurant, for nonstop music and entertainment.

    As the party rolls through the night till the wee hours of the morning, there will be performances by Irene Ntale, Winnie Nwagi, Pallaso, B2C Soldiers among others on a long line-up of exciting artistes.

    For those who find themselves not lucky enough to win a ticket in the activations being conducted at the different night clubs, tickets are already being sold at Shs20,000 at three registration points –Torino Bar, Definition and all Funz Videos outlets.

    Tusker Lite Kampala Night Run route confirmed

    Organizers of the Kampala Tusker Lite Night Run, the first of its kind in the country, have officially confirmed the 2km route for the event, which takes place on June 9 under the theme` Lite the night’.

    One of the organisers, Ronarld Kivumbi explains details of the route

    The Tusker Lite sponsored Marathon, which is primed to be one of Kampala`s biggest crowd pullers when it comes to events that fuse sport and fun, will begin and finish at Torino bar and restaurant, while taking in most of Lugogo, Kololo and surrounding areas.

    Runners will leave Torino bar and restaurant, heading for Hesketh Bell road to join Acher road before heading for upper Kololo. From there, the night`s athletes will head for upper Kololo Terrace through Impala avenue and back to the Lugogo bypass , rejoining upper Kololo terrace and back to Torino. At the finish, winners of different categories will be awarded.

    “The route is short not to overstrain the runners because the real party kicks off when the running ends, there’s lot to do after the run,” one of the run`s organizers, said brand 7D`s Ronald Kivumbi.

    In keeping in tune with the event’s fun theme, participants in the run can look forward to an evening where they literally glow in the dark, thanks to various fancy glow accessories that will be available to runners. These will range runners’ kits to glowing wrist bands and other accessories.
