    She made the remarks on Saturday, July 25, 2026, while attending a thanksgiving ceremony organized by Hon Machika in Tororo District to thank God and the people of West Budama North East Constituency for electing him as the area Member of Parliament.

    The thanksgiving ceremony was organized to celebrate Hon. Owere Machika’s election as Member of Parliament for West Budama North East Constituency and to appreciate residents for the confidence they placed in his leadership.

    Congratulating Owere on his election victory, Hon Mafabi commended the people of West Budama North East for entrusting leadership to a person she said has consistently demonstrated commitment to community development.

    She particularly applauded Owere’s investment in healthcare, citing his support towards emergency medical services through the donation of ambulances to improve access to healthcare for communities.

    A dream come true as Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo starts her reign as Sironko District Woman MP

    Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo officially took the oath of office as the Woman Member of Parliament for Sironko District in a ceremony held at Parliament of Uganda last week on Thursday 14th May 2026. The event marked the formal start of her five-year term, following her landslide victory in the district’s parliamentary elections on January 15th 2026.

    This is a dream come true for Hon. Mafabi who has been wishing hard to get the mandate and serve the people of Sironko rightly. She pledged to uphold the Constitution, serve the people of Sironko with integrity, and perform her duties without fear or favor.

    Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Hon. Mafabi thanked the people of Sironko District for entrusting her with the mandate. She said the support she received during the campaign reflected a shared desire for improved service delivery, stronger representation, and unity across the district. “This seat belongs to the people of Sironko. I am committed to ensuring that every voice is heard and that development reaches every sub-county,” she stated.

    Her priorities, as outlined in her manifesto, include advancing healthcare access, strengthening education, empowering women and youth, and improving agricultural livelihoods. She also emphasized the importance of working collaboratively with local leaders, civil society, and government ministries to address the district’s key challenges.

    Residents and local leaders have no doubt about Hon. Mafabi’s capability and capacity to deliver to the expectations of the her people because she has already even demonstrated it without the mandate since 2019 under her Mafabi Asha Foundation (MAF).

    Hon. Mafabi’s background in community work positions her to understand the needs on the ground. The swearing-in concluded the electoral process and transitions Hon. Mafabi from MP-elect to a full member of Uganda’s 12th Parliament, where she is expected to participate in legislative debates, committee work, and oversight functions affecting Sironko District and the country at large.

    As she begins her term, Hon. Mafabi called on the people of Sironko to remain engaged and hold her accountable, saying that sustainable development requires partnership between leaders and citizens.

    With the swearing done, time to serve starts now – says Hon Mafabi Asha Nabulo

    New Sironko District Woman MP Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo has been sworn in to represent the people of Sironko in the 12th Parliament.

    Speaking to journalists shortly after taking oath, Hon. Mafabi thanked the people of Sironko for entrusting her with the responsibility of representing them in Parliament.

    “I sincerely thank the people of Sironko District for the trust and confidence they placed in me. This is a responsibility I will serve with commitment and dedication,” she said.
    The legislator reaffirmed her commitment to addressing key challenges affecting residents, particularly women, youth, and vulnerable groups across the district.

    She has prioritised the concerns of Sironko residents and has promised to effectively presented them all at the national level.

    “I will work tirelessly to ensure the voices of our people are heard and their concerns addressed at the national level,” she added.

    She further pledged to champion affirmative action initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods, strengthening community empowerment, and promoting inclusive development throughout the district.

    Hon. Mafabi also declared support for government development programmes underYoweri Kaguta Museveni’s “Kisanja No Sleep No Corruption’ agenda, which focuses on wealth creation, improved service delivery, and socio-economic transformation.

    The swearing-in exercise for other elected legislators is expected to end this Friday before the 12th Parliament fully transitions into regular legislative business next week with elections of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

    Sironko District Woman MP elect, Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo, has said she has learnt a lot from the just concluded NRM Leaders’ retreat at National Leadership Institute Kyankwanzi (NALI).

    The vibrant legislator said from the training, she gained experience which she will apply to lead the people of Sironko to greatness. Hon. Mafabi said that the 7 days she spent at Kyankwanzi have totally turned her into a more able leader.

    “I will use my Kyankwanzi experience to help in leading my people of Sironko, I have learnt a lot and gained experience from the retreat. It’s now time to serve the people of Sironko,” Hon.     Sironko District Woman MP elect, Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo, has suggested that the UPDF and government to set up projects for the veterans after they retire from active army service.

    Speaking at the ongoing NRM Leaders’ retreat at National Leadership Institute Kyankwanzi (NALI), Hon. Mafabi Asha was full of praise to the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) for the work they have done and are doing but said there are some loopholes regarding retiring less educated army officers.

    After her appreciation, she asked the government to set up income generating projects (Plan) for veterans especially the less educated so that it keeps them busy and earning after retiring from the national arm army service.

    She said she knows a number of them in the Eastern region who are her friends and are now struggling with life because after retiring, they don’t have any earnings.

    “These people especially the less educated are out there struggling, I appeal to the UPDF and government to put a proper plan in place for such people so that when they retire, they don’t find it difficult to sustain their families or themselves,” Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo said.

    Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo, the Sironko District Woman MP elect, has Lobbied 1.45billion Estimated project from Itracom fertiliser ltd to construct a farmer service centre in Sironko district, this will cover Warehouse Rehabilitation, Cold Storage, And Equipment to boost agricultural production In Sironko District.

    Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo says the proposed investment aligns with the Government’s agenda to strengthen the agriculture sector through increased local agriculture production.

    Speaking about the importance of partnerships in the sector, Hon. Nabulo said local production reduces costs, strengthens supply chains, and ensures that farmers can access fertiliser when they need it. Bugisu must expand local production and adopt Itracom fertiliser products to enhance productivity while protecting soil health.

    She said this when Itracom Fertilizer Limited country representative Jean Luc Bigirimana paid a courtesy visit at Sironko Adaptation center on Wednesday.

    Mr. Bigirimana said, the fertiliser manufacturing plant is expected to create about 5,000 jobs for local people in Sironko district.

    He added that the company is motivated by Uganda’s availability of key raw materials, which will support the production of high-quality organic fertiliser and position the country as a major supplier within the region.

    Meanwhile, Alex Nabende Guga Sironko district LCV chairman elect thanked Hon. Asha for creating a favourable environment for investment.

    Nabende Emphasized that fertilizer will benefit local production.

    “Local fertiliser production has the potential to greatly benefit farmers and the agricultural sector by improving access, reducing costs, and supporting food security,” he added.

    The effort of Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo, Woman Member of Parliament Sironko District elect in Mobilising for the NRM party can not be underestimated.     Speaking over the weekend, Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo who overwhelming defeated incumbent Sironko District Woman MP Hon. Florence Nambozo on 15th January 2026, said she supports Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among to continue serving because she has been doing excellent job and with energy.

    She has called on all others members of Parliament to support her for the second term.

    Hon. Mafabi described Rt. Hon. Among who also doubles as Bukedea District Woman MP elect, as a generous person who has contributed and helped many in terms of development. On the person level, she said the speaker gave her many bursaries which have helped many students from Sironko District to access better education.

    Mafabi also added that Among has served NRM party with energy and resilience and she deserves to be rewarded, adding that she has also served the 11th Parliament very well. Hon. Mafabi encouraged all MPs especially NRM ones to support her saying NRM is a family.

    Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo, the NRM party flagbearer for Sironko District Woman MP seat 2026 has finally dethroned and swept away Incumbent and Minister Hon. Florence Nambozo in a wave dubbed ‘Mafabi’.

    Hon. Mafabi is the leader the district has been yearning for and she has demonstrated that for the last five years even when she didn’t have the mandate.

    January 15th 2026 will be a historical day for the people of Sironko who have been yearning for such a leader in Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo.
