    Fort Portal City, 7th June 2025 — The energy was electric, the talent was phenomenal, and the youth showed up and showed out! The Kiromo All Schools Grand Finale 2025 took Fort Portal by storm, transforming Buhinga Stadium into a vibrant festival of talent, creativity, and youthful expression.

    The highlight of the event was the crowning of Fabiola Elsa Nyana from Kyebambe Girls Secondary School as Miss High School Fort Portal City 2025. Radiant, eloquent, and confident, Fabiola wowed the judges and audience alike with her poise and charisma, standing tall as a symbol of the empowered Ugandan girl.

    Joining her in victory were several outstanding students who took home major titles after competing fiercely across multiple categories. These young stars were selected from dozens of schools that participated in this unforgettable showdown:

    The event brought together students, school administrators, and local authorities, uniting the Fort Portal community in celebration of youth potential. With powerful performances, thrilling dance battles, rap freestyles, and show-stopping runway walks, the stadium echoed with cheers from sunrise to sunset.

    Kiromo Brand House extended heartfelt appreciation to all the schools that participated, the administrators who supported their students, and the authorities who provided a safe, enabling environment.

    “Fort Portal showed us what youth power truly means,” said one of the Kiromo coordinators. “We are proud to have discovered and celebrated some of the brightest young talents in the region.”

    Fort Portal: Joy and excitement erupted among the Tooro people after Ekyooto Ha Mpango Cultural & Tourism Festival together with Talent Africa Group announced that this year’s event will take place on September 13th and 14th, 2024, in the vibrant Fort Portal Tourism City.

    This dynamic festival is set to feature a diverse array of activities, including a music festival, cultural and fashion gala, sporting events, tourism excursions, and much more.

    The Ekyooto Ha Mpango Cultural Tourism Festival is renowned for its celebration of the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the region. This year’s festival promises to be an exciting blend of music, art, sports, and fashion, offering something for everyone.

    NWSC boosts service delivery in Fort Portal City

    The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has completed refurbishment works at the Fort Portal Water Works and the new compact sewage treatment plant for Fort Portal City.

    Speaking during the tour of the projects, NWSC MD Dr. Eng Silver Mugisha assured residents that the Corporation is committed to water and sewerage services for all in the new city.


    “Before, we were producing about 4million litres of water per day whilst the demand for water in the city was 6million litres per day.


    Following the completion of the refurbishment works, we are now producing over 7.5million litres meeting the demand,” he said.


    In addition the corporation has completed installation works of the first compact sewage treatment plant in the area.

    Dr. Silver urged the residents to connect to the new sewage plant and promote sanitation and health in the city.

    The city only utilises 23% of the sewage facility. The plant is very efficient and does not smell.

    “The standard for Biological Oxgen Demand for effluent is (50). At Fort Portal we conform to the required standards and treat it to (40). The figure will go below 40 because the team at the plant has added more nutrients for biological treatment. This will subsequently help reduce pollution along River Mpanga.” he added

    Fort Portal Area Manager Dennis Muramuzi committed to water supply reliability in the area.
    “We have completed over 330kms of water mains extensions. This has enhanced our capacity to lay more water mains in the city. Plans are underway to connect Kiboga road onto the new compact sewage treatment plant,” he shared.
