    Lugogo: All roads led to the cricket Oval on Saturday night as Ugandans flocked the Lugogo based venue to catch a glimpse of Nigerian RnB superstar Fireboy DML who was in the country for his maiden concert in the Pearl of Africa. 
    And thanks to his extensive catalogue of hit songs like ‘Peru’, the Guinness Black Shines Brightest pan African influencer did not disappoint, throwing a showstopping performance that gave Kampala revellers the definition of a party after a long time without massive concerts at the oval.
    Guinness the sponsors of the show did not leave anything to chance. Everything was planned to detail to deliver the “show of the year.”
    In between the musical performances, several DJs including Spinny, Slick Stuart & Roja, Fem DJ and Masaka’s own DJ Ssuuna Ben kept the crowds on their feet.
    Starting the day with rapper Fik Fameica and Zex Bilangilangi, revellers had no idea of what awaited them in store.
    As the night progressed, they were given a dose of hip-hop from Navio and a taste of Sheebah Karungi, the queen herself whose riveting performance left the crowd of revellers on their feet.
    No sooner had she left the stage than Fireboy appeared on stage in all his glory. Starting off with the people’s old-time favorites like ‘Vibration’, ‘Champion’, ‘Energy’, ‘Jealous’, ‘High on life’ among others.
    However, it was his famous ‘Peru’ a song he remixed in collaboration with Ed Shereen that got revellers wild and going crazy over his performance.
    “Uganda thank you for welcoming me,” he shouted in between his performances an act that increased the excitement and got revellers engaged with the star throughout the show.
    Revellers where also given a taste of the Guinness Bright House experience which included  an engagement in Guinness flavour rooms that saw revellers explore the Guinness liquid.
    Having set out to deliver a memorable experience, Guinness Brand Manager Prudence Mutembei had nothing but appreciation for how the event turned out.
    “I cannot tell you how proud we are as UBL and particularly Guinness for how this has culminated. For us the big one is that we gave our consumers quite an experience and a sneak peak into what to expect at the Guinness Bright Houses that we are soon rolling out,” said Mutembei.

    Fireboy promises show-stopping performance ahead of Guinness sponsored show tomorrow

    Kampala: Nigerian Star Fireboy DML who is in the country for his maiden concert has promised a show-stopping performance for his Ugandan fans.

    The Guinness Smooth sponsored show that is organised by Malembe Lifestyle is on tomorrow; Saturday, April 30, at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.

    Speaking to the media during a press conference at Kampala Serena Hotel, the Guinness Black Shines Brightest Pan African campaign influencer said he is very excited to be in the Pearl of Africa and he can’t wait to meet his fans and give them a memorable show.

    “I have always been eager to perform for my Ugandan fans because I know how huge a fan base I have here; that is why this show is a very important occasion for me. I’m looking forward to being with you guys tomorrow. We are going to have fun,” Fireboy said.

    The star who arrived in the country earlier this morning will be performing alongside some of the biggest names in the country including Sheebah, Navio, Fik Famieca and Zex Bilangilangi among others.

    The show will also feature some of the biggest disc spinners including DJ Ssese, DJ Spinny, Slick Stuart & Roja, Fem DJ and DJ Ssuuna Ben, a local DJ causing waves on the local scene that was added to the line-up following fans’ requests.

    “This is going to be a show like no other. I know this is a statement that you always hear when concerts like these are happening, but this one is different. We have undoubtedly one of the biggest artistes on the African continent with some of the biggest hits at the moment and we have organised an experience only Guinness can do. Fireboy, Malembe and Guinness; this collaboration is the perfect recipe for a magical show,” said Prudence Mutembei, the Premium Beers Brand Manager at UBL.

    At the press conference, Malembe emphasised that Ugandans should prepare for a riveting show.“The Fireboy show is something you do not want to miss. With a catalogue like Fireboy’s and the line-up that we have, this is set to be the biggest show on Uganda’s social calendar,” said Keith Ashaba of Malembe Lifestyle.

    Malembe promised a great experience including seamless access to the venue and top notch security for revellers.

    Fireboy boasts hits like Vibration, What If I Say, Peru and Playboy that have garnered enormous airplay in Uganda. He has recently worked with internationally acclaimed stars like Ed Sheeran and the legendary Madonna.

    Advance tickets for the show are still available and they go for Shs40,000 for regular and Shs85,000 for VIP. They are available on Quicket.co.ug, the Jumia Food App and physically at Shell Select Shops and Funz Videos.

    The organisers urge showgoers to snap up the discounted advance tickets as regular tickets at the gates will cost Shs70,000 while VIP tickets will go for Shs120,000. Gates will open at midday.

    Renowned DJ and Media Personality Suuna Ben has scooped a deal of a lifetime as he is set to rub shoulders with Nigerian superstar and Guinness Pan African Black shines brightest influencer Fireboy at his maiden concert slated for this Saturday, April 30, at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

    A mechanic by profession, Sunna Ben is famous Munamasaka, media personality and radio DJ that garnered a lot of interest in the country’s social circles after style of mixing songs with a faster BPM (Beats Per Minute) that he calls ‘Ebiyanyayanya’ propelled him to popularity.

    Sunna who now works on Bukedde FM is a man whose audience is completely different from that of Fireboy, and one might wonder what that dynamic will look like.While he appeals to a local audience.

    Suuna was added on the performance list the “uptown” crowd on Twitter asked that they want to see him perform.

    Following the Twitter buzz, event organizer Malembe Lifestyle reached out to him, a deal was closed and they made it official with a poster.

    Speaking about Suuna Bens’s addition to the lineup, Keith Ashaba from Malembe spoke about Suuna’s genius in engaging with revellers and the universal appeal that music has.

    “Music is a universal language that can and should be enjoyed by everyone and Sunna Ben gives that to his fans, so he is more than welcome, to take part in the show come Saturday,” said Ashaba.

    Kampala: Nigerian singer, songwriter and RnB sensation Fireboy DML has been confirmed for a Kampala concert slated for Saturday, April 30 at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.

    The announcement comes after the show organisers Malembe Lifestyle inked a deal to have Guinness Uganda as the event’s major sponsor.

    Guinness coming on board for the concert is no surprise as Fireboy is the Pan African influencer for the brand’s “Black Shines Brightest” campaign.

    The campaign champions new talent and those making waves in culture across the continent.

    From his breakthrough in 2019, Fireboy has pushed the envelope and reshaped the face of Afrobeats and African Music in general.

    He has embodied the “Black shines Brightest” spirit with his creative genius and collaborations that have seen him work with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry like Ed Sheeran on the remix of his hit single Peru and his recent collaboration with international superstar and queen of Pop Madonna on the remix of her 90s’ hit single Frozen.

    Fireboy is a pan African Guinness influencer and we have learnt that the show organisers are finalising a deal with Guinness to make this one of the biggest events of 2022.

    Fireboy DML is currently shining brightest as one of Nigeria’s biggest musical exports.

    He has recently enjoyed international success following the release of his hit single Peru. The song attracted the attention of musical A-lister Ed Sheeran who tagged along his efforts for a priceless remix.
