    Etihad Airways Launches Global Early Bird Offer and Encourages Travellers from Uganda to See the World

    Etihad Airways has launched an Early Bird offer with special fares to many of the airline’s destinations worldwide.

    Plan early and book Business and Economy Class tickets at attractive fares and enjoy dream breaks to a wide choice of cities, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Mumbai, London, Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Beijing, Bengaluru, Chennai and Shanghai.

    The special fares in Economy Class can be booked between now and 31 July 2017 for travel from 17 September to 30 May 2018.

    For those wishing to experience Etihad Airways’ award-winning Business Class, special fares are also bookable immediately, up until 31 July 2017, for travel between 14 August and 30 May 2018.

    Guests are advised to book early through etihad.com or Etihad Airways’ 24/7 call centre, or via a travel agent to ensure access to incredible destinations at the best fares and a choice of travel dates.

    Airline wins three major awards for its industry-leading First Class at the annual World Airline Awards

    Etihad Airways has once again been presented with three coveted awards for the World’s Best First Class, Best First Class Onboard Catering, and Best First Class Airline Seat at the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards. The event was held at the Musee de l’Air et de l’Espace, as part of the bi-annual Paris Airshow.

    The prestigious World Airline Awards are widely considered to be a global benchmark of airline excellence. Winners are chosen based on the votes and findings of a ten month survey of over 19 million air travellers from 105 countries. The survey covers over 325 airlines, from the largest international airlines to smaller domestic carriers, measuring quality standards for 41 KPIs across front-line product and service factors in the airport and onboard environments.

    In recent years, Etihad Airways has won numerous accolades for its First Class service and cabin designs. This also marks the third time the airline has won all three First Class award categories at the World Airline Awards.

    Etihad Airways offers First Class private suites on a large number of its wide-body fleet of aircraft. The A380 First Class cabin boasts nine First Apartments, unique living spaces which at 39 square feet in area, and feature a Poltrona Frau leather armchair and a separate ottoman which converts into a full-length 80.5 inch long bed. A dedicated shower room is available for exclusive use by First Class guests.

    The Boeing 787s are equipped with eight private First Suites in a unique curved aisle setting, an airline industry first, with a 10 per cent increase in personal space. The forward and aft facing suites feature a large Poltrona Frau leather armchair which converts into an 80.5 inch fully-flat bed. They also feature 24 inch TV monitors, large dining tables for dual dining, personal wardrobes and privacy doors.

    Etihad Airways’ three-class configured longhaul fleet of Boeing 777s and Airbus A330/A340 family aircraft also feature private First Class suites, with Poltrona Frau leather seating and cutting-edge features and amenities.

    Etihad Airways Engineering signs Boeing 787 Contract to optimize Aircraft performance of Kenya Airways

    Etihad Airways Engineering has signed an agreement with Kenya Airways to perform mandatory checks on its Boeing 787-8 fleet. This is part of an integration programme for the newest additions to the airline’s fleet.

    The first of six scheduled Boeing 787 C-checks begins this month, with the last one planned for October 2017. The airline is also planning a number of product and reliability improvement modifications to systems and components during these heavy maintenance checks.

    Jeff Wilkinson, Chief Executive Officer, Etihad Airways Engineering, said: “We are pleased to support Kenya Airways in optimising its fleet performance and building its technical know-how through our expanding Boeing 787 heavy maintenance capabilities.”

    Martyn Haines, Kenya Airways Technical Director, said: “We will use this opportunity to upscale and retool some of our technical department, who will be onsite to provide oversight of all work being done. The agreement also opens up other collaborative opportunities including training programmes.

    “We have an ongoing maintenance programme of small and large checks across our other fleets, with all of these scheduled for completion within our maintenance facility.”

    Etihad Airways Engineering is the largest commercial aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services provider in the Middle East and has served more than 100 airlines and aviation operators from around the world. The company was named MRO Service Provider of the Year – Middle East at the 2016 Aviation Business Awards.
