    Kampala: Bridges & Beats officially came to life last evening at a vibrant press conference hosted at Alliance Française Kampala, setting the tone for what promises to be one of the most culturally immersive events of the year.

    Organized by Alliance Française Kampala in partnership with Talent Africa Group, the press conference brought together members of the media, cultural stakeholders, and celebrated artists, offering a first look into the highly anticipated event scheduled for 28th March 2026 at Kingdom Kampala from 4:00 PM.

    The press conference was graced by notable artists including Elijah Kitaka, Tracy Melon, and Blac Queen, alongside other performers who will take to the stage at the main event.

    Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Loïc Boivin, the new Director of Alliance Française Kampala, emphasized the importance of cultural dialogue and collaboration, noting that Bridges & Beats reflects what Francophonie represents today — openness, creativity, and connection across cultures — and expressing pride in creating a platform where Ugandan and Francophone talent can meet, collaborate, and inspire new audiences.

    Also addressing the media, Aly Allibhai, CEO of Talent Africa Group, highlighted the experiential vision behind the event, stating that the group continues to evolve how audiences experience culture and that Bridges & Beats is not just an event but a fusion of music, art, conversation, and lifestyle designed to be bold, immersive, and unforgettable for Kampala.

    Bridges & Beats will feature a carefully curated program that blends entertainment and cultural expression, including live music performances showcasing a fusion of Ugandan and Francophone sounds, DJ sets, and dynamic stage experiences.     Cartel Bizness: Troy Elimu Unveils Kampala’s New Creative Anthem

    The industrial walls of Silo 15 echoed with basslines, bold fashion, and electric anticipation on Sunday night as Kampala’s creative elite gathered for the Cartel Bizness EP Listening Party an immersive celebration of music, fashion, and identity, backed by Guinness Smooth.

    Curated by fashion disruptor Troy Elimu, known in culture circles as Denim Cartel, the event marked a pivotal moment in Kampala’s growing creative renaissance. Having already gained continental recognition as one of the faces of the Guinness Smooth ‘Make It Yours’ campaign alongside Nigeria’s Waffles & Cream, Troy used the moment to unveil his next chapter a debut music project years in the making.

    “This EP is more than music it’s my story, my expression, and a reflection of all the wild, soulful, fearless creatives I’ve worked with,” Troy shared during a candid moment on stage.
    The Cartel Bizness EP, officially dropping July 23, is a sonic collage that fuses Afro-fusion, soul, dancehall, hip hop, and East African rhythm.

    It features a stellar lineup of collaborators including A Pass, Mike Kayihura, Bensoul, Elijah Kitaka, BigTril, Tai Dai, Kamanzi, Tungi, and more with award-winning producer Axon orchestrating the soundscape.

    Guests were treated to live performances from Mike Kayihura and Bensoul, whose soulful energy matched the EP’s emotional richness. Throughout the night, Troy took the audience behind the curtain, revealing the raw passion, risks, and vision that shaped each track.

    “Working with these artists pushed me beyond fashion and into sound,” he said. “That’s what the Make It Yours mantra is all about breaking molds, owning your creative truth, and showing up as your full self.”

    The venue was transformed into a living installation part runway, part soundstage showcasing Denim Cartel’s signature upcycled aesthetic, bespoke fashion pieces, and limited-edition merch inspired by the EP.

    Only a select group of 500 tastemakers, culture shapers, and creatives made the invite list making it not just a listening party, but a statement of cultural direction.

    “Cartel Bizness is built on trust and raw expression,” Troy added. “We didn’t make this for the charts. We made it for the culture.”

    Guinness Smooth played an integral role in bringing the vision to life, reinforcing its position as a platform championing authentic, local creative stories.

    “This is exactly what Make It Yours stands for,” said Denise Nazzinda, Brand Manager at Guinness Uganda. “Bold Ugandan creatives, telling their stories on their own terms, and building something that moves culture.”

    ‘Was shocked when Bebe Cool called me to listen to his new album’, Elijah Kitaka

    Bebe Cool’s new album will be debuting on streaming platforms this Friday- May 30th.
    And the reviews continue to come in.
    But these are not reviews by industry honchos and pundits, these are by select artists that exclusively listened to the album.
    The latest review came in from Elijah Kitaka.
    Known for bangers such as Nothing, Dawa, and recently Ekyange, Kitaka said Bebe Cool’s new journey on Breaking the Chains is inspirational.

    During an exclusive listening session, Kitaka said the album made him appreciate a different side of Bebe Cool, one who’s trying to tap into different markets without forgetting his roots.
    “As I listened to the album, I got to listen to another side of Bebe Cool, his passion and originality, he has a song where he does a thing that stays on your mind,” he says.

    Kitaka also says that what Bebe Cool is doing, trying to make music for a global marketing is an inspiration to them as artists that are just starting out.
    He also notes that Bebe Cool delivers a quality album which stays true to some Ugandan progressions, something he believes local artists can pick up.
    Kitaka acknowledges his surprise that Bebe Cool called him to listen to his new material considering the fact that as a new artist, he’s greatly inspired and influenced by Bebe Cool.
    “As an upcoming artist trying to come up in the industry, I’m happy that he’s recognized me,” he says.

    Bebe Cool has teased his upcoming album for more than a year.
    It was at the end of 2023 that the artist traveled to Nigeria to put together songs that could end up on the album he aptly said was called Break the Chains.
    For a bigger part of 2024, very little information was provided about the project until the end of the year.
    He dropped the first single off the album, Circumference and followed it up with Motivation in February.

    He would later hint on dates the album would be released. As the release date gets closer, we are getting to learn more about the album through people who have listened to it already. Most of them influencial Ugandans, ranging from A-Pass, Juliana and Elijah Kitaka, they have been giving the audience a glimpse of what will land on the streaming platforms on Friday.
    The album mainly produced between Nigeria and Uganda is highly anticipated thanks to the disruptive nature it has been marketed.

    Bebe Cool

    Much as details of guests on the album or number of songs have been kept a secret, most Ugandans have been able to second guess Joshua Baraka will be on the album since a video of the two artistes in studio surfaced online few months ago.
    Break the Chains will be premiered on streaming platforms in the wee hours of Friday morning, though, a select number of fans and artists will listen to the album on Thursday, in a special listeners party.

    Break the Chains will be available on YouTube Music, Tidal, Apple Music, Audio Mack, Deezer and Spotify among other platforms.

    Elijah Kitaka and Winnie Nwagi, two singers from Swangz Avenue, have collaborated with Ugandan artist Beenie Gunter to create an anticipated hit alongside Jamaican reggae dancehall artist Anthony Grandison, better known as Dexta Daps. The Forever artist was the main act at the recently successful Noise Makers Festival held at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

    Images obtained by this website captured the four artists in a studio, enjoying a great atmosphere. Dexta shared his gratitude towards Ugandans for the overwhelming support he received during his first concert in Africa.

    It is a typical practice for Jamaican musicians to team up with Ugandan artists when they come to perform in the country. Renowned artists such as Beenie Man, Konshens, and Demarco have previously collaborated with Ugandan singers following their performances in Uganda.

    The artists Dexta is working with, especially Kitaka and Nwagi, have produced remarkable music in 2024, particularly featured on the Swangz Avenue All Star Album. Beenie Gunter is well-acquainted with Jamaican patois and dancehall music.
