    Winnie Nwagi, Diamond Platnumz, Nameless To Perform On Stage

    Diamond Platnumz to perform at a charity show in Kampala and proceeds will fund a number of initiatives, including championing budding talent.

    The charity event, which is being organized by Comedy Store, will be held on July 14 at Kololo Airstrip in Kampala.

    Comedy Store, a premier entertainment firm, in April 2022 launched an eponymously named foundation under which it runs three main projects.

    Speaking to media on Monday, June 19, Comedy Store Chief Executive Alex Muhangi said the Foundation runs the Comedy Auditions Progam, through which they’ve nurtured over 300 budding comedians, including a household name like Maulana & Reign.

    The duo participated in the first audition that was held in Bucket, a Kampala suburb.

    Through the charity show, the Comedy Store Foundation eyes using part of the funds raised to boost this initiative so they can reach a wider pool of talent.

    Muhangi also added saying at the conference, they are also looking to mentor dancers, singers, and other entertainers.

    The Foundation also runs a program that focuses on mentoring young students in critical life skills. Through the Youth Training & Mentorship Program, they trained over 80 Makerere University Law Pre-entry students in analytical writing skills, effective communication, and general knowledge among others.

    The Comedy Store Foundation also operates the annual Home of Hope Charity football match where proceeds support vulnerable communities. For instance, the latest, which was held in December 2022, brought together celebrities and over 100 vulnerable children at Katalemwa Chesire Home benefited.

    Diamond Platunmz will share the stage with top entertainers, including Nameless, King Saha, Spice Diana, Zex Bilangilangi, Winnie Nwagi, Karole Kasita, Dady Andre, Abeka Band, Ray G, Alien Skin, Naava Grey and Brude Melode.

    According to Alex Muhangi, Platnumz will arrive in Kampala on July 11.

    The weekly comedy show hosted by Alex Muhangi is flying in Tanzania’s Bongo Flava star ‘Diamond Platnumz’ at next week’s Comedy store.

    Alex Muhangi announced this during the recent episode of the comedy store hosted at UMA lugogo grounds, that Eric Omondi and Diamond will headline Comedy store next week on 25th July, the music star who formerly dated our own Zari, will be performing songs like ‘African Beauty’, Tetema, Kwangalu etc.

    Comedy Store so far this year has hosted several big international acts like Klint Da drunk from Nigeria, Eric Omondi and singer Jaguar from Kenya.Diamond Platnumz last performed in Uganda in 2017 at the Kampala City Carvival.

    Comedy Store last night signed off in an amazing fashion as they embark on a brief break. Alex Muhangi, the Store boss expressed his happiness at the turn up graced by top celebrities and socialites in town.

    Diva Cindy Sanyu fired up the crowd on the final night before the comedy heads for a short make to plan for a mega restructure.

    “Thanks to those who turned up for our closing show as we embark on a brief break. It was remarkable. Too much music, full package of comedy. We hope it was worth it and that you had a great time.

    Cindy came in high spirit! She went on to entertain her fans who stuck around despite most of the audience leaving. And those who stayed will tell you it was a blast. She treated them to some of her hits from the Blu*3 years. Good vibes just.

    Earlier, King Saga had put up a solid performance that got everybody jiggy. His vocal abilities are not something ordinary.

    But we had as much music entertainment as we had the laughs. Not surprising when the lineup comprises of Mariachi, Madrat & Chiko, Senga Nantume, Snake & Zolo, Crazy University, Kerekere, Kabata and the likes.

    Did you see that Kerekere attire? And these are the same chaps that were judging Jack Pemba. Lol… Moral of the story – Never be quick to judge.

    Bryan White spends UGX 47m at Comedy Store show

    The CEO of Bryan White Foundation, Bryan White, has spent UGX 47m on comedy talent. During his appearance at Comedy Store show on Thursday, Bryan White through his foundation offered comedians of the night massive financial support.

    Bryan said he spotted the comedy talent that needs to be pushed internationally. Together with his team, during the show they dished out close to UGX 50m to different comedians led by Comedy Store chief Alex Muhangi.

    Diners, The 400 Lounge lose weekly comedy shows

    Two rival bars in Bukoto are facing tough times after they were stripped of two precious weekly comedy shows. The 400 Bar and Lounge has lost Comedy Store hosted by Alex Muhangi which has been happening at the hangout every Thursday. They have lost the show to UMA Exhibition Hall which from 25th of this month will be the new home of the Comedy store.

    On the other hand, Diners Lounge also located a few metres from The 400 Lounge has lost Comedy Feast which has been hosted by Ronnie Macvex on Thursdays. Their new home will now be Cayenne Lounge and Restaurant located along Bukoto -Ntinda Road after Kabira Country Club.

    Alex Muhangi has taken his Comedy Store to UMA Exhibition Hall

    Their first show at their new home is slated for the 18th January 2018 and will be happening every Thursday at the place. Sources say two losing bars failed to meet minimum KCCA standards on noise pollution as they lacked sound proof. Residents who stay the near bars have continuously complained to KCCA of noise interruptions resulting from the two bars.

    Ever since Comedy Store made The 400 Bar and Lounge their new home every Thursday evening, night life fun is back to the Bukoto based bar.  The 400 is every Thursdays filled with comedy lovers to watch their favourite comedians hosted by Alex Muhangi do their thing. After the comedy show, revellers descend into the main 400 bar lounge, a thing that has put life back into the bar. In The 400 is now the place to be every Thursday and it is surely giving its rival Diners a run for their money.

    “Thanks to everyone who was part of our second show at The 400 last evening. We appreciate the support and for choosing to spend your Thursdays hanging with us. It was a great episode. The punchlines and entertainment came in handy.

    Add to that a surprise performance from Jajja w’abayimbi a.k.a Ragga Dee and King Michael, and you get worthwhile show. Thanks Dee for endorsing the show.

    The show featured comics; Mariachi, Amooti, The Talkers, Dolibondo, MC Kalevu and renowned dancer Ibra Buwembo together with his crew. Those guys can dance!!

    Geo Steady then crowned the night and my oh my! Ladies love this guy. He hadn’t set his foot on stage but he found a chic waiting to wrap him in a 3 minute long hug. How did I not choose being a musician as a career? Y’all be there having our women crush on you and all we do is pay so that they come watch u perform? This is gross injustice.

    Lydia Jazmine slayed to the stage too, Isaac Rucci, Bigsize Bebecool….. it was Star studded.

    After quitting Diners Lounge over unclear reasons, Comedy Store of Alex Muhangi is set to premiere at their new home tonight Thursday 12th October 2017.

    Alex Muhangi told this website that after acquiring new home, comedy store business is back to normal.

    “At The400 Bar, we have better service, larger parking space and a spacious environment,” Miss Carol (Dir. The 400 Bar and Restaurant).

    “Alex Muhangi Comedian, will host a mega show this Thursday, with several top Comedians, Winne Nwagi and the undercover brothers( live band)performing. I will be the event security consultant and can confirm that all revellers, cars and properties of guests will be 100% secured. Let’s keep beef out of comedy. Feel free to attend any show, hosted by your favourite comedian or bar in Kampala,” Dixon Okello.

    The night features other comedians like Madrat and Chico, Amooti, MC Mariachi, Snake and Zoro Bush, Godi Godi, Tamale, Senga Natume, Kele Kele, Dikhanio, Jaja Bruce, Crazy University, Kobusheshe, Mr Silverback, DJ Cream, Jay K and singer Winnie Nwagi.
