Vanessa Ponce, a 27-year-old Mexican, was crowned the 68th Miss World in Sanya, China in December last year. She became the first Mexican to the crown.

The beauty queen together with the Miss World team headed by CEO Julia Morley arrived at Entebbe Airport, welcomed by Quinn Abenakyo, the current Miss World Africa and Miss Uganda 2018/19.

She is in the country for a six-day tour, on which she will grace the crowning of Miss Uganda 2019 on Friday at Sheraton Hotel, Kampala. The Mexican will also participate in other series of activities including engaging in beauty pageants with a purpose projects among others. Ponce became the overall winner with Abenakyo coming in as 2nd runner up and also winning the crown of Miss World Africa.

Miss World is the oldest running international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951.





She was grateful to whoever honored her invite and asked her guests to enjoy the moment. There were performances from King Saha who ushered her in, Maddox Ssematimba who was joined by Jose Chameleone and Lydia Jasmine. The party went on till the wee hours of the morning and guests left at leisure. Here are some highlights of how it went down.
