Statement on unscrupulous people fleecing Ugandan workers stuck abroad

The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development has warned the general public against being conned by individuals into paying to repatriate their family members stuck in the Middle East due to Covid-19 global Pandemic.
“It has come to the notice of the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development that some unscrupulous individuals are duping migrant workers in the Middle East and their families into paying money to purportedly help them get repatriated back home.
The attached statement is to therefore offer guidance to the public and also let them know that the Ministry is available to help where need arises,” Ministry said.
