Shock as the posh Kololo Heights Apartments is caught in water theft scandal
There was shock as staff of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) unearthed water theft at the posh Kololo Heights Apartments.
Drama ensued yesterday as residents at Kololo Heights jumped out of the pool as NWSC team unearthed an illegal water connection at posh apartments earlier yesterday.
NWSC working with the Uganda Police launched a crackdown on illegal water theft. A number of culprits have been arrested, fined and others tried at the recently launched Utility court.
NWSC has warned several water theft customers to abandon the idea but all in vain.
“Customers who steal water deny many deserving customers a right to clean safe water. Legalise your water connection today and avoid the ongoing name and shame campaign,” NWSC said.
Meanwhile National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has systematically increased the number of public water points in a bid to improve services for the less privileged communities. This is in line with the Corporation’s 2016-2021 strategic direction and aims to ensure water for all, starting with all 179 towns by 2020.
