Before, Madina Namanda struggled to support her children and never paid much mind to potential business or financial opportunities. However, once FINCA Uganda entered the picture, Madina realized that through savings and loans the quality of life for her and her family of five could improve immensely.

Through her first loan, Madina bought the necessary items to keep her family afloat. Since then, she has continued to return to FINCA for her financial needs and for support in her new business ventures. Now, Madina can be found operating a 12-acre pineapple plantation, a 3-acre coffee plantation, a commercial poultry farm, and a clean water distribution site for the community out of her home.

Through all of her successful businesses and, FINCA’s support, Madina was able to purchase land, a truck to transport her crops, hire field staff, purchase a personal vehicle, and send two of her children to university.

Madina Namanda is a long-time FINCA client and a shining example of how the right combination of hard work, an entrepreneurial mindset, and access to capital can lead to a brighter future.
