The Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda has called on the people of Sheema to unite and work together to develop their area. The Prime Minister made a call as the chief guest at Professor Ephraim Kamuntu’s get together party swearing in as the new MP for Sheema County South in Sheema district last evening at NFA Gardens, Bugolobi.

“Sheema has had very prominent people who have been part of national development. Elections are done and it’s time to come together and become one strong team to develop Sheema and Uganda,” Rugunda said.
He added,” We must fight poverty and become a middle income country. Government will give out tea and coffee seedlings plus many other seedlings in a bid to fight poverty in Uganda. Take advantage of the input being given out by government to fight poverty,”

He commended the work of UPDF in fight against insecurity and thanked Ugandans for paying taxes that have supported all this to happen. “Presence of peace creates development and we must maintain it,” he said. Rugunda lauded the work of Hon Ephraim Kamuntu and Hon. Elioda Tumwesigye for their work and applauded the contribution of Sheema people to the country’s development.

Professor Ephraim Kamuntu promised to deliver for the people of Sheema South regardless of their political differences. “I will work hand in hand with everyone for the benefit of Sheema South,” Kamuntu said.
The party was graced by Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kutesa, Former Sheema MPS Sir Richard Kaijuka, Rosemary Nyakikongoro, Yowasi Makaaru among others.
