Rt Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga unveils new tourism sites in Busoga

Yesterday, the 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs, Rt Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, unveiled two new tourism sites in Busiki chiefdom, Namutumba district.

The newly unveiled sites are; Nakyaka Herbal Forest Site and Namagero Cultural Site, all are located in in Kizuba sub county, Busiki chiefdom, Namutumba district.

Before unveiling the new sites, Hon Kadaga was hosted by Akulila Ensiza ya Isa Masiya Apostle Christopher Besweli Kaswabuli during the Busoga Tourism Trial Experience, which is intended to unveil new tourism sites in the Busoga Kingdom, aiming to boost the region’s cultural and natural heritage tourism.

After the unveiling the new tourism sites, Hon Kadaga joined the thousands of people at Namutumba Town Council Grounds. Where she awarded trophies to the teams which worn the Busoga Tourism football tournament and the winners of Masaza Cup 2023! Busiki Chiefdom Football Club was the winner of both tournaments followed by the Busiki North Football Club.

More prizes, including medals and mattresses, were given to the talented girls and boys who excelled in bicycle racing and athletics competitions. A special gift of a motorcycle was presented to the chiefdom, and bicycles were handed out to the LC1 chairpersons to help promote tourism in Busiki chiefdom and Namutumba district as whole.

Busoga Kingdom Tourism and Heritage Minister Hon. Hellen Olga Namutamba who is also a major tourism advocate in the country accompanied Rt. Hon. Kadaga at the unveiling.
