Rotary Club of Mbale Announces the Fourth Edition Fundraiser Hike to Wanale for Education Initiatives

Mbale: The Rotary Club of Mbale, in collaboration with Rotary E-Club
Diaspora Cranes and Rotaract Club of Tank Hill City, is thrilled to announce the fourth edition of the Wanale
Fundraiser Hike, dubbed Wanale Climbing Challenge scheduled to take place on February 24, 2024.

The annual Wanale Fundraiser Hike has become a flagship event, drawing participants from across the
region to embark on a scenic trek up the picturesque Wanale Hill.

This year’s event promises to be bigger
and more impactful than ever, thanks to the support of key partners including Aquafina, Mountain Inn, Elgon FM, Duckhill Microfinance, Elgon Water, Das – Berliner Hotel and several others.

Previous Success and Impact
The third edition, held on February 26, 2023, was a tremendous success, attracting over 700 enthusiastic
participants.

Officiated by Hon. Mike Kennedy Sebalu and Hon. Nathan Nandala, the event raised a remarkable UGX 25 million. The funds were used to finance 21 scholarships for bright but needy students in schools around Mbale, fostering educational opportunities for the next generation.

Focus for the Fourth Edition
The primary objective of this year’s fundraiser is to support the rebuilding of Bubentyse Primary School (Pictures at the bottom of the story) in
Wanale Sub County, Mbale, and other education initiatives.

The organizers aim to surpass previous
achievements and make an even greater impact on education in the region. They aim to raise UGX 170 million.

The February 24th , 2024 event will take place at Wanale, Mbale Starting from the Mbale Rotary Park.
