Police To Investigate ‘Beneath The Lies’ Series Theft Case
Police is set help the management of Beneath The Lies in finding out who broke into their office and stole episodes of the series as well as other valuable property. Uganda Police today released an official statement on the matter.

Below is the official statement from the police about the theft.
Jinja Road Police station is investigating circumstances under which the house in which film crews of Kinetic and Savanna Moon were residing broken in and thugs made off with property worth millions of shillings.
The thieves broke into the house located in Lakeside Villas between 3:00 am to 4:30 am, on 30/12/2014 and stole property valued at US $76,000.
The properties stolen include camera math box, camera lens, camera body, desktop computers, laptops, DVD players and hard drives.
Police were informed about the incident and our detectives swiftly started investigations that led to the arrest of three suspects.
Three suspects are currently detained at Jinja Police Station to help with investigations.
Our investigations show that the burglary was organized.
At around 3:30am, thieves gained access into the house through the sitting room. They proceeded to a room where the gadgets were kept, packed everything and left the scene.
The thugs strike when the crew had just finished shooting the last episodes titled “Beneath the lies”, TV series that was supposed to air on Urban TV.
The thugs timed the crews when they had gone out to relax after a long day’s work.
Our officers are still scrutinizing CCTV footage to find possible clues.
Yesterday Savannah Moon Productions, Kinetic Management Group with Urban TV issued an official statement about the theft of their series.
Savannah Moon Productions, Kinetic Management Group with Urban TV regret to inform its viewers that the greatly anticipated Beneath the Lies TV Series that premiered on December 17th 2014 has been put on hold until further notice.
The series which had shown two episodes suffered a major setback when the premises of Kinetic and Savannah Moon, the producers of the show, were broken into late December 2014. The break-in resulted in a loss of footage and TV equipment, leading to the cancellation of the broadcast.
“This is regrettable because the series had built a large following after only two episodes”, Michael Owor, Urban TV Station Manager was quoted as saying. He added that he is hopeful that the producers will be able to continue production inspite of the setback.
