“I really want to apologise if there is anybody I have stepped on, please I am sorry. All I meant was for the good of the country, I did not have a personal problem with anybody. I have never had that,” Gen Kale Kayihura.

He went on to thank the Uganda Police and all other Ugandans who he worked with in Police for the last 12 years.

“I am happy to hand over a police force better than I found it, irrespective of the recent bad image. I am grateful to the President for the opportunity to serve. I may have fallen short during my tenure and that I regret, but I am only human. However, we have had more achievements than failures,” Gen Kale Kayihura

“I want to thank all men and women in Uganda Police Force, the civilians in the force, Ugandans and the young men and women who volunteered as a force multiplier by forming the crime prevention forum for the cooperation rendered during my tenure as the Inspector General of Police. Above all, I thank H.E the President of Uganda for entrusting me with this role for 12 years and 2 months. I never thought I would be the longest serving IGP, I’m extremely indebted to the President and commander in chief for the honor to serve in this capacity.

I am not in any doubt that the new team is up to the task. I have worked with both of them and I know they are capable of taking the force forward from where I have left it,” Gen. Kale Kayihura.

To err is human, to forgive is divine, we forgive you.
