Gates open at 10am and close after the New Year celebrations and fireworks.

Uganda Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima has assured revelers and guests of maximum security in and outside the venue.

He said Police will deploy all security agencies with counter terrorism, normal, plain clothed security personnel and others all will be patrolling the area.

He warned places permitted to do fireworks against exceeding the given five minutes otherwise if they do so the long arm of the law will get them in.

“It is an opportunity to showcase and raise our flag to the world and therefore we must make sure there is maximum security to counter any problem that may want to arise,” Kayima said.

“We are coming close to the end of 2017 and what better way to end it than to dance into the New Year. The #UGMixParty will be on the 31st of December 2017 at Sheraton Kampala Hotel. Entrance is only 20k and 50k for VIP”

The event is sponsored by Uganda Waragi, Coca Cola, MTN Uganda, Rwenzori Water and Sheraton Kampala Hotel.

Coca Cola said they are grateful to be part of the event and will continue to be part of promoting local music through such events.

“MTN is privileged to be part of this fun filled event and will provide necessary network for people to share the fun through their ‘My Paka Paka’. MTN has also boosted the party with additional mast on top of Sheraton Hotel,” Vaal Oketcho said.

Sheraton Hotel has promised the best fireworks never seen before. “This year we have put more science in our fireworks and we hope to do the best we can come on Sunday,” Sheraton said.
