NWSC weekly work roundup

Last night, National Water and Sewerage Corporation finalised a new interconnection to serve its people in Matugga-Jokorere areas.

This and more is part of ongoing interventions to boost supply in various parts of Kampala City and surrounding areas in a campaign dubbed ‘NWSC Works’.

In the Community connection, Kampala Water Engineers yesterday morning surprised the choirs at Namugongo Marty’s shrine with “heavy breakfast”. The Engineers are also on standby to ensure that there is constant flow of water at the Shrines ahead of Martyr’s Day celebrations this Saturday 3rd June 2017.

NWSC has also revealed that the new Harukoto Reservoir at the Kings Palace in Fort Portal work is progressing on well. The new reservoir will serve the King’s palace, Kyebambe Hill including the Bishop of Rwenzori diocese and diocese offices/residences, Butebe, Futibutangwa, Mbuzi and furthermore serve the water stressed areas along Kasese and Bwamba Roads.

In a brand new effort, NWSC is piloting packaged sewage treatment plants in Fort Portal and Kisoro towns to improve sanitation and health in those areas.

Meanwhile NWSC field staffs yesterday unearthed an illegal water connection along Bombo Road. “Customers who steal water deny many deserving customers a right to safe clean water. Blow the whistle today AGAINST Water theft,” NWSC posted on their social media wall.
