NWSC UPDATE: Ongoing water supply stabilization projects in Kampala

The launch of the long awaited Katosi project, coupled with feeder projects has resulted in supply improvement in Kyaliwajjala, Mukono, Seeta, Ntinda, and Gayaza branches.

Despite the additional supply, some areas are still experiencing intermittent supply due to topographic and infrastructure capacity challenges. We are undertaking the following projects to ensure adequate utilization of Katosi supply and ultimately alleviation of dry zones.

a) Kyanja
Construction of 500cc reservoir at Naguru and laying of 6km DN 300 from Naguru to Kyanja.
ECT September 2021

b) Matugga
Laying of 8km DN300 from Luteete through Kiteezi to Matugga.
ECT September 2021

c) Kungu
Laying of 4km DN250/150 from Kira police to Kungu. ECT August 2021

d) Gayaza
Completion of laying 14km DN350/250 Sonde to Nakwero. ECT July 2021

e) Mukono Zimwe hill
Upgrading of pump and pumping main from DN100 to DN150.
ECT July 2021

f) Nansana
Laying 7km DN300/250 from Kasubi to Nansana tank via Nansana booster.
ECT November 2021

g) Bandwe and Nalumunye Completion of clipping of DN250/150/100 across Entebbe expressway bridges to ensure reliable supply to the two boosters.
ECT July 2021.

The corporation is undertaking a number of interventions to boost water supply in the Kampala Metropolitan service area.
