National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has extended its illegal water connection to Washing Bays in and around Kampala. The crackdown started yesterday as the ground staff of the water body hunted for Washing Bays using illegally connected water.
According NWSC, the crackdown is ongoing and all Washing bays using water illegally will be worked on.
They have warned car owners to avoid embarrassment by taking their cars to genuine Washing bays.
“Customers who steal water deny many deserving customers a right to safe clean water therefore we warn all those using water illegally to refrain from it,” NWSC management.
Meanwhile NWSC continues to extend water to most areas in the country.
“We are laying water mains along Kampala – Masaka Road from Kyengera to extend water to Nsangi. This is part of our infrastructure service delivery Plans to improve access to safe water in all our areas of operation. Water for all by 2018,” NWSC.
NWSC is also working on Water mains extensions in Lira-Barlwala area to improve access to safe water. The water body is aggressively expanding its network in all its areas of operation to improve the lives of the people of Uganda.
