NWSC extends water to Dokolo

Dokolo natives are all smiles as National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) fulfills its commitment to provide clean and safe water to everyone, wherever they are in Uganda.

This is under their campaign Clean and safe water for all 2018 and Dokolo is now a testimony to the project because the cooperation was in the area earlier this week to work on the project.

“Accelerated infrastructure development for service delivery: Dokolo-Northern, welcome to the big water family! We are laying pipes km by km from town to town. We believe in clean safe water for all,” NWSC posted.

Meanwhile the ongoing refurbishing of Ggaba water works will add 50 million litres of water per day into the Kampala water service network when fully completed.  The project upon completion will subsequently improve water supply reliability in Kampala Business district.

In related development, Government institutions that have unpaid water bills could find themselves in trouble. According to NWSC MD Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance has instructed the water body to disconnect all government institutions with pending bills. “The billions in arrears owed to us can help us extend water to more people and stabilize supply in water stressed areas,” Mugisha said.
