MPs Praise Dott Services Limited Shs20bn Quarry

Members of Parliament on Physical Infrastructure Committee have praised and endorsed Dott Services Limited as the best local contractor company after touring its Shs 20bn Quarry in Luweero district.

The 30 member committee while touring the company’s Quarry in Semuto, Luweero district on Wednesday said they have accepted that Dott services which started its business in 1994 is capable of doing great job as far as infrastructure is concerned. The committee chairperson Ephrahim Biraro said with this mega quarry, Dott services Limited is gradually building capacity in terms of implementing the given road works or any other infrastructure work. “We are happy that Dott Service Limited can favourably compete with international companies and we urge them to keep the capacity building on.

The Quarry has a stone crushing machines, asbestos mixing machine, Stone and concrete crushing machine, plate blending machine that is used from making hydro power dams materials and pipes is located at Semuto in Luweero. It is where tarmac that Dott Services use across the country is made from and it stands on 125 acres of land and the combined value of everything at the place is Shs20bn.

The materials done at the quarry is used for all road works under Dott Services across the country. Ssekitoleko, the committee member said as MPs they are very happy to have the first local contractor able to do the work done by international contractors and can able compete with them. The MPs also toured the ongoing works on Jinja- Kamuli Road and appreciated the good work so far done.

Dott Service Director Mr Maheswara Reddy thanked the MPs and said the company was happy that it has finally been recognized as the biggest local contractor in the country. The members commenced the day with the tour of Dott Services workshop in Namanve and then visited the company’s head offices in Naguru.

The MPS also called on government and UNRA to put plans on rehabilitating Nakifuma Road that is in a very bad state, the old tarmac has been washed away.
