Maro returns to Jinja for 10-year anniversary

Marking a decade in any industry is an achievement worth celebrating, and RnB singer Ronald Magada alias Maromarked the occasion with the first of Bell Jamz Listeners’ Experience to be held out of Kampala and in his hometown – Jinja.

The event took place at Transafrica on February 15th 2020 and was the first Bell Jamz event of 2020, marking the beginning of yet another year of the musical platform pioneered by Bell Lager to promote Ugandan music.

The event got off to a late start owing to the football match between Liverpool and Norwich.
However, the crowds were entertained by some of Jinja’s very own talents such as Sandra K, Jwats, Andrea Baguma, all of whom were given the opportunity to showcase their talents.

A welcome sur
prise came in the form of Shane Palko, the alternative folk musician from Dallas, Texas who made it a point to show support for Maro’s milestone as a testament to their friendship.

Feffe Busi took the crowd on a rollercoaster ride of his hottest Lugaflow hits, such as Love Yo and Baagala Feffe, before Maro came to the stage, supported by a live band and went through his engaging catalogue of songs like Freestyle, GendaEwamwe, Toneraga and Anjagala, whose remix he performed with Feffe Busi.

The Bell Jamz Listeners’ Experiences were unveiled in February 2019 by Bell Lager with the view to promoting Ugandan music through engaging, up close and personal experiences performed with a live band.

The first, second and third editions featured Beenie Gunter, Kent & Flosso and Pallaso respectively, all of which lived up to their billing.
