Tanzanian Top Radio personality excited about the awards
Lil Ommy – Tanzania’s top media personality and host of The Playlist on Times FM Radio has won the two major awards; the coveted Best Host award at the African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA) that were held on October 19thin New Jersey, USA and Best Media Personality at the Starqt Awards in South Africa (October 26th).
Popularly known as the MVP, Ommy was the only radio host from Tanzania nominated in the awards alongside some of the top hosts in Africa including Anita Fabiola, Stella Carvalho, Mangomito, Chichistylxz, Daniel Nacimento, Michelle Dede, Erskine Whyte, Teacher Wanjiku and Eric Omondi.
Sharing the news via his Instagram account, the ecstatic presenter thanked his fans and followers for voting for him: “I take this opportunity to thank God, each of my followers for voting for me and offering immense support. A big thank you to all of my fans for rooting for me, this cannot go unrecognized. Together we have bagged the Best African Radio Presenter of the Year. This award is for all the youth. I urge my fans to work hard and never give up, have faith in whatever you do, respect one and all, believe your craft and you will conquer!”
He further added, “This award is also a reminder for me to also work harder and to keep motivating the youth to believe in their dreams so that we can grow the entertainment industry together. This is just the beginning, bigger projects are in store!”
Lil Ommy is largely recognized for his engaging interviews on his ‘The Playlist show’. With a successful 10-year stint as a radio host on Times FM, he has hosted some of the biggest music personalities which are also available on his YouTube Channel – LilOmmyTV. He is known for his mastery in his art and creativity with his hot, trendy and fiery questions on his show.
This year, Lil Ommy was also nominated in the Media Personality of the Year category at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) held on 26th October 2019.
