Kyabazinga & Inhebantu to host Muslims at Igenge Palace

The Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Nadiope IV and Inhebantu of Busoga Jovia Mutesi are expected to host the Muslim community on Friday 5th, April 2024 at the Igenge Palace in Jinja City.

According to Busoga Kingdom’s Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muvawala, while addressing the media at Busoga Kingdom headquarters together with Busoga Muslim Leaders on April 1st, 2023 informed Busoga that preparations are underway.

Muvawala revealed that Juma prayers will be conducted at the Palace and the deputy Mufti Sheikh Muhammed Ali Waiswa will lead the prayers and will be assisted by Busoga regional Khadi Sheikh Dr. Hussein Muhamadi Bowa.

“The prayers will start at 11:00am and I expect all Muslims to pray for the Kyabazinga, his Palace and Busoga at large to be always peaceful,” Muvawala said.

Muvawala further called upon Ministers who hail from Busoga, Members of Parliament from Busoga and other leaders to come and attend the event.

He added that he is going to write to the chairperson of the Busoga Parliamentary Caucus Iddi Isabirye (Bunya South MP) to request him to mobilise all the Members of Parliament from Busoga to attend the event.

Muvawala further revealed that the First deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East Africa Community Affairs, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, in conjunction with the Turkish Government is organizing an executive Iftar dinner event which will take place at Civil Service College of Uganda Jinja, on Saturday April 6th, 2024.

He said that the Kyabazinga will also grace the Iftar dinner at Civil Service College Uganda Jinja on Saturday.

Busoga Kingdom’s 2nd deputy Prime Minister Owek. Alhaj Osman Ahmed Noor, who is coordinating the event said that over 5000 Muslims are expected to attend the Juma prayers at Igenge Palace.

Alhaj Osman said that MTN Uganda has donated the alms to be distributed to the Muslims.

Busoga regional Khadi, Sheikh Dr. Hussein Bowa felt pleased for the Muslim community to have the last Juma prayers in this month of Ramadan, inside the Kyabazinga’s Igenge Palace.

Bowa also urged Muslims that while conducting Juma prayers in the Palace, they should pray for the Government of Uganda, Kyabazinga and Inhebantu, Busoga Lukiiko and for themselves,” Sheikh Bowa.

He encouraged all district Khadis from the eight Muslim districts of Busoga sub region to mobilise the Muslim community to attend the event in large numbers.
