Keddi Foundation Extends Aid Beyond Homes: Supporting Entebbe Market Vendors After Floods

In the ongoing efforts to support communities affected by the recent floods in Entebbe, Keddi Foundation’s commitment goes beyond just homes.

Keddi Foundation through their founder Hon. Steven Keddi Zuluba believes in uplifting every aspect of community life, and their recent visit to Nakiwogo market in Entebbe exemplifies this spirit of solidarity and support.

The devastation caused by the floods didn’t spare the market, leaving traders with no place to display their goods and facing significant challenges. Recognizing the urgent need for assistance, our team engaged with the market leaders to understand their pressing needs.

Among the challenges highlighted was the necessity for gumboots to protect traders from the risks posed by stagnant water. Additionally, there was a critical need to raise the ground level to prevent future flooding of the market area.

In response to these needs, Keddi Foundation CEO generously donated over 200 pairs of gumboots to the market vendors, ensuring their safety and well-being amidst the challenging conditions. Furthermore, recognizing the importance of long-term solutions, the CEO also provided a facilitation of 1000 US dollars, equivalent to 3.8 million Uganda shillings, to support the ground-raising initiative.

The response from the market leaders and vendors was overwhelming gratitude. Their joy was palpable as they expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Keddi Foundation for stepping in and providing much-needed assistance during their time of need.

Keddi Foundation chief Hon. Steven Keddi Zuluba said he is honored to have been able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the market vendors in Entebbe.

“As we continue our mission to uplift and empower communities, we remain committed to standing with those affected by the floods and supporting them on their journey towards recovery and resilience. #ServingHumanity,” he said.
