John Musinguzi replaces Doris Akol as the new Commissioner General URA

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Mr John Musinguzi Rujoki as the new Commissioner General of Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) with immediate effect.
He has also forwarded the details of Dr Michael Atingo-Ego to Parliament for vetting for the position of Deputy Governor, Bank of Uganda.
John Musinguzi has been in State House as the Presidential advisor on Investment and ICT and Chairman NITA board.
Previously served as Uganda Revenue Authority (URA)’s Special Revenue Protection Services as Head, Finance and Audit.
Holds a BSc, Maths (MUK) and MSc, Computing and Information Systems (University of Greenwich).
He is the former deputy Head Prefect (HP) of Ntare School and a son to Rev. Canon Rujoki from Nyabushozi in Kiruhura district.

His major role is to shake up URA that hasn’t been hitting targets.
Dr. Michael Atingi-Ego is undoubted Kasekende or plus and worked at Bank of Uganda (BoU) previously.
Currently serves as Deputy Director, International Monetary Fund, Africa Department.

He served as Executive Director for Research at Bank of Uganda, 2005-2008.

Mr. Musinguzi replaces Doris Akol who has been at the helm of the Tax body since replacing Allen Kagina. She has been fired.
