Joe Malaika scoops Boston Fashion Award

US based Ugandan fashion designer Joe Malaika is bubbing shoulders high after winning an award in Boston Fashion Awards held on Sunday. He was recognised among the top fashion designers of 2015 with the award for the Best Designer casual wear.

“What a Weekend!! I have faced several challenges on my way here, but each one of them has only strengthened me to make me the person I am today I sincerely thank each one of you who voted for me on a daily basis for helping me reach the stage. I am earnestly grateful for the recognition as well something I never take for granted want to Thank the Boston Fashion Awards for noticing my efforts as one of the City’s top designers would like to congratulate all the nominees and certainly other winners special thanks to all the folks that have constantly encouraged me along the way I’m writing this with tears in my eyes ladies and gentlemen. It’s honestly not an easy journey. Didn’t think a little guy from Kampala would ever win this. Thank you so very much everyone for the support Thank you Boston,” Joe Malaika posted after his win.
