Hon. Rebecca Kadaga contributes UGX 10m to develop St. Gagonza Gonza Tourism Site

The Chairperson Busoga Tourism Board Rt.Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga over the weekend contributed UGX 10m to Bugonza Parish in Bulamogi , Kaliro District for developing St. Gagonza Gonza Site.

She made the contribution during the celebration of St. Gonza Gagonza in Kaliro District.

Thousands of people from all around the country gathered in Kaliro District to celebrate St. Gonza Gagonza Day at the church parish, which is a faith-based tourism site.

St. Gonza Gagonza was the first Musoga who was killed for his faith in accepting Christianity.

Busoga Tourism and Heritage Minister Hon. Hellena Olga Namutumba led the tourism team on the historic occasion.

The Minister also presented a cheque of UGX 10 million from the Chairperson of the Busoga Tourism Board, Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga to the Bishop of the diocese.

Other dignitaries in attendance included the Chairperson LC 5 of Kaliro District, Prof. Dr. Frank Nabwiiso, and Katikiiro of Bulamogi and Katikiiro of Bukono, among others.

Hon. Hellen Olga said once the Gonza Site is fully developed, it will be a key tourist attraction for Busoga Region which will boost tourism in the region.
