The Turkish Ambassador to Uganda His Excellency H.E. Mehmet Fatih Ak, toured Busoga to identify the locations where the Turkish government plans to establish an international university.
The ambassador’s tour to Busoga region was led by Busoga Tourism and Heritage Minister Hon. Hellen Namutamba, on behalf of the Rt Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga.

In his remarks, the ambassador unveiled the Turkish government plans of strengthening relationship with Busoga Kingdom by investing in education and business sectors. The ambassador visited Jinja Central School which is part of the planned site for the establishment of Turkish University and High School. Jinja Central School founded by Dr. Fredrick Kasisa is situated on 15-acres of land in Mpumudde, off Kamuli Road, Jinja City.


In their deep discussion, the ambassador disclosed the Turkish government plans to establish a Turkish consulate in Jinja City in the future.
The head of delegation, Owek. Namutamba expressed deep appreciation to the Turkish government for providing full scholarships to students from the Busoga Kingdom. She also acknowledged the efforts of Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga in strengthening bonds with Turkey and advocating for the region’s development, particularly the tourism sector.


Dr. Fredrick Kasisa extended his gratitude to Maama Kadaga for facilitating these educational initiatives and continuously working for the progress of Busoga.
The partnership between Busoga and Turkey continues to contribute significantly to the region’s growth.
The visit then proceeded to Itanda Falls, where discussions are ongoing about developing the area, including the construction of a modern hotel.
