Government not impressed by the progress of work at Teryet National High Altitude Training Centre

The State Minister for Sports Hon. Peter Ogwang has led a team from the Ministry of Education and Sports and National Council of Sports (NCS) to inspect the progress of works at the Teryet National High Altitude Training Centre in Kapchorwa.

“Honestly, we were not impressed by the progress of works that should have been completed in 2019,” Hon.Peter Ogwang said.

The Minister said the contractor was supposed to hand over the facility this month but they were disappointed to find that works had stalled.

“Neither the contractor nor the consultant were on site, and in some areas there is shoddy work,” Hon. Peter Ogwang added.

This matter was brought to the attention of Uganda Police CIDs for investigations and some arrests have already been made.
