Ruhinda North County MP in Mitooma district and Government Chief Whip Hon. Thomas Tayebwa has rejected Daily Monitor’s apology to him over a story they run about him a few weeks ago.
The daily newspaper carried a story with headline ‘Government Chief Whip Thomas Tayebwa fills office with relatives’, a story which he described as not false but also destructive towards his image.
While the story was carried on the paper’s front page, the apology was pressed inside on page 2 in one of the corners in today’s edition. Through his social media platforms, Hon. Thomas Tayebwa rejected the apology. Here is what he posted,” Shakespeare said, He who steals my purse steals trash, but he who steals my good name robs what is nothing to him but EVERYTHING to me. @DailyMonitor u destroyed my name in a main headline but today you choose to tuck a lukewarm apology in a corner on Page 2. This is unacceptable!,” He posted.
