Frank Gashumba To Sue Vision Group

Inspirational speaker and Sisimuka Uganda ( National Action For Awakening Uganda) activist, Frank Gashumba, has threatened to sue the Vision Group over what he called continued defamation. The motor mouthed speaker accuses the Group’s Tabloid ‘The Kampala Sun’ for unprofessionally and in a manner that is demeaning, belittling, malicious, biased affected him, his family and several business ventures that he is involved in.

He has therefore instructed his lawyers to take the company to court and is demanding an apology and Shs 500m in damages. Below is his statement which he posted on his Facebook wall.

Frank Gashumba: I have instructed a team of Lawyers to take New Vision to Court, on several occasion, the New Vision through its sister company The Kampala Sun has unprofessionally and in a manner that is demeaning, belittling, malicious, biased affected me, my family and several business ventures that i am involved in.

They have called me all sorts of names and the most recent one they reported in their news paper that i was evicted from my office.

These stories are deliberately crafted to undermine my integrity. The said office is is open from Monday to Friday.

It is of regret that a media house like New Vision can decide to trend in false hoods and yellow journalism.

Sometime this year, the same news paper published my face on the front page saying that i am a wanted person in Kampala which was very false.

It is an attempt to negate Frank Gashumba and undermine his credibility and personality. New Vision is expected to be fair and balanced or at least pretend to.

Enough is Enough.
Let the Courts of Law sort us out.

Owing to these defamatory and deliberate statements against me which were read by millions of people across the globe. I strongly demand the following:

1. A satisfactory apology.
2. Damages and compensation for the unnecessary inconvenience, loss of reputation, loss of opportunities, anxiety, mental anguish, psychological torture, emotional distress and costs amounting to UGX 500,000,000 (Uganda Shillings Five Hundred Million Only).
