Exclusive: Karitas buries hatchet with co-host McVex, returns to her “Nxt Transit” show
Seasoned media personality, Karitas Karismbi, has finally buried her hatchet with workmate and co-host Ronnie Mc Vex, and the two are now back together on their drive show, ‘The Transit.’
In case you missed it, on Friday 5th June, a clip went viral online showing the two presenters in disagreement over whether someone should be called ugly or not. The exchange saw Karitas storm out of the studio live on air, subsequently posting on her social media moments later demanding an apology.
That next Monday, Karitas interestingly instead joined boss, Marcus Kwikiriza to co-host their breakfast show, “Nxt Morning Zoo,” in place of the on-leave Qitui, rather than her usual show. There, she explained that she wasn’t offended by what Ronnie said about her hair but that rather, she found it disturbing that a person would want to call another human being ugly, also questioning why Ronnie used the “mizigo women” as a yardstick for bad hair, pointers that a sizeable number of those that called in to the show seemed to agree with.
Ronnie McVex was then on Thursday last week also accorded a similar platform to share his side of the story, now hosted by Marcus and Karitas. Ronnie explained that his intention was not to offend Karitas, going on to apologize to her, as well as the listeners of Nxt Radio. He also thanked Marcus, who also doubles as the General Manager of the station, for not sacking either or both of them but coming up with a solution to their issues.
Karitas has since returned to the “Nxt Transit”, a show she co-hosts with comics Ronnie McVex and Smart Ayokyayokya. The show airs weekdays 3-7pm. Karitas also hosts “The Chatroom” on NBS TV every Sunday from 8-9pm.
