Environment and Social Safeguards International (ESSI) has taken the opportunity to sincerely appreciate the efforts of our leaders; the President, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Prime Minister-Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, the Minister of Health-Dr. Ruth Aceng, the entire Taskforce team led by Ms. Mary Karooro Okurut, and all frontline staff and key officials, that are working tirelessly to combat the Covid-19 pandemic in Uganda.
In honour of these remarkable efforts, ESSI donated 60 fruit trees as a token of appreciation.
“Trees are a symbol of fortitude. It is our hope that they will be for these esteemed leaders, a perfect representation of their courage, and a reminder of their outstanding contribution in time to come,” Mr. Khasim Ngabirano of ESSI said.
“To the victims and survivors of this pandemic, we are also giving these fruit trees as a souvenir for their indomitable fight against the virus. And also as a source of nourishment in future. Please receive this humble expression of gratitude from the Staff and Directors of ESSI, one of whom is Edrisa Musuuza (Eddie Kenzo), who would have loved to officiate this hand-over but is currently not able to be in the country,” he added.
Below is the tree allocation in summary to the Recipients;
His Excellency, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni 1, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda 1, Dr. Ruth Aceng 1,
Ms. Mary Karooro Okurut 1,
Covid-19 victims and survivors
“May God continue to bless you as you keep up the good fight. We thank you,” Ngabirano said.
