Ellah, Roger Mugisha shine as NTV premieres Second Chance series
NTV Uganda has this evening premiered the Ugandan version of the Mexican telenovela “Second Chance”, one of the most popular television soap operas in the world. Former Uganda National Examinations Board chairman, Fagil Mandy plays “Pedro” in “second Chance Uganda”.
Former big brother socialite Stella Nantumbwe aka Ellah plays Isabel, the notorious but sexy young wife to Pedro. In the original opera, Isabela is played by Mexican telenovela actress Lorena Rojas who died of cancer last year.
Celebrated city MC Roger Mugisha playing Cuban star actor Mario Antonio Cimarro Paz aka Salvador’s role is also part of the soap that has got Ugandans talking already.
NTV boss Aggie Konde said at the Serena hotel premiere that the soap will be run across 152 countries on Telemundo. “That is a good way to sell the brand Uganda,” Konde observed.
She also revealed that NTV Uganda received over 3000 applications to act in “Second Chance Uganda.”
Mandy, one of the lead actors started acting in 1965 and last acted seriously around 1989.
“I have been acting, since I was in S.2 at Lubiri Secondary school, that is around 1965. Believe in yourself and never try to be someone else.”
Ellah has of recent been involved in lots of acrrtions and one being ‘Think Like A Man’ the musical production which was staged at Theatre La Bonita in July. She played her role perfectly and she is likely to repeat it in Second Chance series.
The soap will be airing every Monday and Tuesday at 8:05pm. Watch the space!
