DJ Sonic fires at South Sudanese artists on ThaWave Podcast

South Sudanese and Uganda based Deejay Sonix his criticised his fellow entertainers for forcing copyrights on YouTube content in his recent interview on ThaWave Podcast.

Sonix was answering to questions on whether Deejays were facing problems doing their work, he said “We Deejays remix songs from artists and reupload them to YouTube in order to showcase our work and promote music; however, this happens when artists have already uploaded this content and restrict the use of it and this leads YouTube to take down our work”
“Funny thing, some of these artists are upcoming and they need us to promote them through their content.”He went further to describe artists as “people who try to protect brands they have not yet built”
Artists on the other hand have aired different views on this matter and one upcoming rapper posted on his Facebook page in support saying “YouTube is not the best place to promote music and people have rushed to upload them without ground promotion which only Deejays can provide” while local musician Jay Brown in response said “Don’t still our music, it’s ours”.
