Ugandan comedy has been on the rise for the last five years but there are two people have completely benefited from the funny game. In the past five years, comedy in Uganda has been the in thing and these two people have taken the advantage by earning a lot from it. We are talking of none other than Patrick Idringi Salvado and Anne Kansiime.Anne Kansiime (L) in one of her comedy acts
While other comedians have struggled to make a name on international scene, it has been so easy for the above two to thrive with Kansiime mostly taking the biggest share. In a space of less than two years, Kansiime has managed to perform in Britain, Australia, Zambia, Kenya, Nigeria to mention but a few. She has continued her world comedy conquest and will perform in South Africa come May 30th this year.
On the other hand, Salvado has also managed to gain international fame from the funny game. A few years ago, he was a little known person working with MTN Uganda as an engineer but now, the funny man from ‘Mbokolo’ is ruling the world with his rib cracking jokes.
With successful shows in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and United Kingdom, Salvado is set to have his one man show on 2nd June this year at Kampala Serena Hotel to reach out to his Ugandan fans.
The two managed to rise up the Ugandan flag internationally for the last two years. “We are very proud to have people like Anne Kansiime and Salvado go and fill theaters in UK, Australia and South Africa, let us give them thumbs up for making us proud,” Our resident comedy analyst said.
