Climate Justice activist, Linda, calls for preservation of nature
Water Resource Engineer, Climate Justice activist, environmentalist and Social media influencer Linda Evelyn Namulindwa has called for preservation of nature as heat takes tall in Kampala.
Posting on her X formerly Twitter, Linda said it’s extremely hot in Kampala lately and she listed reasons why it is so hot.
She said increased greenhouse gas emissions from transport, energy use, & consumption/waste and Deforestation & industrial activities have causee increased hotness in Kampala.
She went on to list what we can do to avert this rampant hit in Kampala.
She called for preservation of nature by plant trees and promotion sustainable transportation like the use of trains and buses.
She went on and called for the transition to cleaner energy sources like; Solar, Wind, biomass energy among others other than fossil fuels.
And lastly to embrace eco-friendly practices like reduce, reuse & recycle.
Her call comes weeks after she was honored to participate in her first panel discussion.
It was a special event by Msichana Uganda celebrating International Day of Women & Girls in Science with a focus on Women & Girls in Science Leadership for a Sustainable Future.
During the Panel, she advised the young generation to pursue their passion fearlessly and not to let fear of failure and criticism hold them back.
“Never stop learning & surround yourself with inspirational people. Don’t compare yourself to others and stay resilient in the face of challenges. Believe in yourself,” she added.
