Phaneroo unveils 5th Anniversary Celebrations Theme With Letters’ Teaser

Phaneroo Ministries International will next month be celebrating its fifth year of preaching the word of God and leading thousands to the Creator’s saving grace.

As part of the campaign in the run up to the celebrations, the fellowship this week embarked on a campaign that involved a teaser of letters erected on roadside billboards and shared widely on social media platforms.

On Monday, Kampala residents were greeted with billboard images of the letter “G” that left many wondering whether some corporate companies were on the verge of rebranding.

The letter “G” was followed with letters, C, A and E on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

However, it has emerged that the letters many saw are part of the theme for this year’s 5th anniversary celebrations.

Today, Friday, the fellowship ends the letters’ teaser and unveils the theme; G.R.A.C.E, a five letter word to signify the five years of grace God has given the ministry.

The anniversary celebrations that are now in high gear will be held at Kololo Independence Grounds on Saturday 10th August, 2019.

Started in 2014 by charismatic preacher, Apostle Grace Lubega, Phaneroo is a dynamic, life transforming and generation impacting ministry with a vision to transform nations and the entire world with the word of God.

‘Phaneroo is a Greek word translated as bringing to manifestation that which existed but is not seen.’ “ The Phaneroovision entails the raising of Christians that are distinguished as sons of God; separated for the demonstration of the God-life to the world and crowned with the glories of eternity,” the fellowship says.

“We are raising a generation that does not depend on a man of God for solutions but rather individuals that are solutions in themselves at their work places, in their homes, on the streets and everywhere else because they know God for themselves and are instructed in His Word.

Phaneroo holds massively attended fellowships every Thursday at UMA show Grounds and two Sunday services at the same venue. The fellowship’s influence also stretches to prisons with a vibrant prisons ministry deeply involved in preaching the gospel to inmates on a weekly basis, provision of basic necessities, legal aid as well as rehabilitation of ex-convicts. The ministry presently has a presence in over fifty institutions of learning through its schools ministry. Through its Diaspora arm, Phaneroo has spread its wings in several countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, China, Kenya, Burundi, South Sudan and many others.

Kotido Residents Receive Free Health Services at Airtel Health Camp

Kampala: Airtel Uganda camped in Kotido district for a two-day health camp as part of its continued efforts to boost socio-economic development in communities across Uganda by ensuring access to health information and services.

Held at Nakapelimoru Health center III, the health camp offered free health care services such as dental and eye care, blood donations, menstrual hygiene, antenatal and postnatal checks, family planning services, screening for hypertension, diabetes, breast, prostate and cervical cancer, immunization and health education with a focus on nutrition, safe water and disease prevention.

Speaking at the health camp, Airtel Uganda Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Mrs. Charity R Bukenya said the health camp is yet another spoke in Airtel’s major plan to improve the lives of their subscribers within the communities in which they live and operate.

Having achieved network leadership across Uganda, we are committed to ensuring that Ugandans use this connectivity to empower themselves. One of the biggest hindrances to this is lack of proper health care services and information. This is the reason why we are camped in Kotido this weekend. We believe that a healthy population is a productive population,” she noted.

“We are proud to have received thousands of patients who have all either received treatment, done health checks or received referrals for further investigation, she stated.

Sarah Lodon, a 21-year old pregnant lady, who had been having unknown complications with her pregnancy noted that it is not easy accessing health services because they lack the time, the equipment and the financial capability.

“I have been trying to get a scan done since I found out that I was pregnant but the health centers in the area do not have the necessary equipment. I am happy that Airtel has brought this machine here and given me an opportunity to check on the status of my baby,” she noted. She alsoapplauded Airtel for the clothing ministry, which gave out free clothes, shoes and other items to the community.

According to Mr. Tony Ajuma, an official from the Kotido district health office, the health status of the population is still poor with many residents suffering from malaria, typhoid and hepatitis B. Skin diseases among the youth and children as well as dental and eye diseases are also common in the area.

Sheila Gashumba tells her love story with God’s Plan

Sheilah Carol Gashumba has finally spoken out about her relationship with God’s Plan aka Marcus. Posting on her wall, the Lil Stunner told how she fell in love with the big spender who took months to convince her. Here is her story;
“It’s soo sad that when celebrities are single, you come up and tag us with all kinds of men, we keep quiet, when we finally date someone and we share our photos on social media, you come up with all sorts of different stories to shame someone. I don’t know why people think am below 18 or they probably think I don’t know what I’m doing. Now let me make this clear for those who didn’t get the memo, there is nothing I don’t know about Marcus and there is nothing he doesn’t know about me that a stranger or a blogger will tell us about and guess what, we love each other just the way we are. So for now, just keep enjoying what we post when we decide to. Shouts out girls commenting all sorts of hateful things, im sorry to tell you that all your comments won’t let me leave him or let him leave me.I’m not your ordinary Ugandan girl that you will scare and when he is single you all will be running to him like wild dogs and please he ain’t your ordinary type of guy. So Bambi, awuledde ategezze omulala. So for now keep reading the blogs, screenshot, send your fellow gossip girls but the fact still remains that I’m still with the man of your dreams. Wabula temwagaliza, let me remind you guys of how you make fools of yourself every time,
First y’all began with ‘ the man has a lot of money to be faithful, he will leave Sheilah soon’ when that failed you moved to, ‘but the guy doesn’t post her on Snapchat and Instagram or show his face’ and when he started posting me and showing his face, you came up with another excuse ‘ oh but they don’t look happy’ 😂😂😂😂😂Wabula Bambi temukoya, I’m not the one who approached the man to date me 😂😂 it took him a couple of months btw to convince me, so temutekako bizibu byemye.
Ugandans love to be hypocrites all the time, the ones commenting are the same ones flirting and sleeping with their sister or best friend’s boyfriends with no shame whatsoever. So now are you trying to tell me you stupid gossip girls have never dated a man with an ex or a child. Since you know the answer deep down, I will let you drink water often and mind your business. Some of you try to really take care of yourselves to look good or have some glow but you still look crusty af, you know why, BECAUSE YOU DONT MIND YOUR BUSINESS.
And please stop dragging my dear father into my personal life okay!! Leave him to continue being my perfect Superman. Is he the first one to have a daughter dating someone, y’all love to blow everything into the biggest proportions. Leave my father to continue being the handsome and most intelligent man that he is.
Lol!! I feel pity for sad and hateful people on the internet. I can already imagine how much sadness you have in your lives, homes and relationships and I can only feel sad about how toxic y’all to the people around.Sorry for you, may you get well soon.
Please don’t argue with my post, I won’t read your comments because I’m too busy planing my future with my boyfriend, working on my store and planing my next holiday so argue with your keyboards.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
Yours Truly,
Sheilah C Gashumba.

I’m carrying the vision of 1000 women” Sandra Nakayenze

dfcu bank in partnership with Monitor Publication Limited’s Daily Monitor and Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) have been running a program dubbed ‘Rising Woman’ aimed at recognizing, celebrating and promoting a culture of mentorship among women in business. Nakayenze Sandra emerged as the third runner up in the Rising Womanproposal writing competition and won UGX: 5,000,000 and a study tour trip to Nairobi. Below is her story.

Four years ago, Sandra Nakayenze set out to change the lives of women coffee farmers in the hills of Sironko district. The social, economic, religious and cultural hardships encountered by both young rural women and the girl child in her village compelled Sandra to form Kalaa Mugoosi Women Empowerment Limited.

At 22 years of age, Sandra ventured into a trade predominantly occupied by men and facing multiple challenges on account of her age. She says people really never took her seriously because she was young.

I grew up on a coffee farm and I know that women contribute 80% of labor in coffee production but they earn less compared to their male counterparts.  When it comes to marketing they are not there so I wanted to position myself to be able to access the markets and also make a difference by inspiring other women to venture outside their normal routine of field work, says Sandra.

Filled with big dreams and the desire to see them come true, she took a leap of faith and approached Great Lakes Company with some coffee she had prepared from her father’s farm. She promised to sell to them better high quality coffee if they accepted to do business with her. As luck would have it, she was given a chance Sandra says she would get credit from Great Lakes to pay farmers then deliver coffee as promised that way both the farmers and buyers got a good bargain through the elimination of the middle men.

Her resilience in the face of challenges has enabled her tobecame a very successful coffee farmer who has improved the standards of living for women through the village SACCO that gives women loans and also buys their coffee at a good price. The savings group so far has 1,200 members and is still growing.

“After 3 years of trading in coffee, we thought about how we could position and market ourselves better so we embarked on trying to produce specialty coffee. That’s the business proposal we submitted to the ‘Rising Woman’ competition. We needed the money to purchase another pulping machine which would increase our production volumes since it pulps about 1,000kgs per hour. It would also reduce the time we spent on pulping one coffee bag, says Sandra.

Through the initiative many women have been able to earn income over time. The cooperative targets coffee farmers as they work towards for social economic transformation for the women and young mothers.

Through its Women in Business program, dfcu Bankrecognizes such efforts aimed at changing society in general.  Sandra is one of the ten women entrepreneurs who travelled to Nairobi in an all-expense paid study tour trip courtesy of the dfcu WiB programme.

Nakayenze’s story is one of struggle, persistence and challenges many young people can relate to while venturing into business. Pursuing the dream of producing the highest quality Arabic coffee still remains her dream. “I’m carrying the vision of 1,000 women who are counting on me” she reiterates.
