Busoga Ministry of Tourism & Heritage donates to candidates ahead of PLE

The Ministry of Tourism and Heritage in Busoga Kingdom headed by Owek. Hellen Olga Namutamba, has donated scholastic materials and sanitary pads to Primary Seven candidates at 7 schools in Bukono and Busiki chiefdoms.

The scholastic materials are meant to enable them to excel in the upcoming Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

The items were delivered by Busoga Tourism Queens led by Miss Tourism Busoga Tenywa Mercy accompanied by Miss Tourism Busoga Coordinator Doris Walusimbi, Queen Jackie of Bukono and the Queen of Bunhole Chiefdom.

During distribution of items to the schools, they were joined by the Prince of Busiki chiefdom Nabongo Yelorimu Kisiki, Princes Betty Kibwika, Minister of Education in Busiki chiefdom Lwanga Aggrey and the Minister of Finance.

Scholastic items included boxes of mathematical sets, pencils and pens and were distributed to among four schools in Busiki chiefdom and three schools in Bukono chiefdom.

The schools included: Magada P/S, Kisiro P/S, Nawandyo P/S, Kikalu P/S, Kirongo P/S, Nabikabala P/S, Namaato P/S and Nkono Memorial P/S.

Queen Doris Walusimbi said they also delivered success cards to P.7 candidates with messages from the Minister of Tourism and Heritage Owek. Hellen Olga Namutamba adding that the items are meant to boost their confidence, concentration and their academic performance.

The gesture gives hope and confidence to the pupils ahead of their final Primary exams.
