Bryan Kirumira aka Bryan White continues to challenge his doubters with strong messages to instill hope, confidence and self esteem in people to end poverty in Uganda.

The 32 year old, through his Bryan White Foundation on Monday (yesterday), kicked off countrywide poverty eradication campaign at his home in Mityana, Wabigalo village.

He retaliated earlier statements distancing himself from any political activity or working for anyone. His cause is solely his and independent from any.

During the rally, Bryan said he started the cause single and wants to instill hope, confidence and self esteem in people as a way of working hard to improve people’s lives.

He committed himself to helping anyone that comes with a business proposal and added that his campaign will cover the entire nation.

At the rally, Bryan said anything can help even if it is in a non monetary form. Learn to tell people inspiring words. “Have hope, love your country and believe in yourself,” he said.

He again voiced his message to people to engage in Agriculture as a one way of fighting poverty. “It is no doubt that our economy’s backbone is agriculture and we need to have as many people as we can in the industry”.

“I am not a politician and i will never be one, no money in politics, Politicians here are poor because they eat tax payers’ money thus failing government’s programs. When they receive money meant to develop their people, they first develop themselves. I am here to work with government to help people get out of poverty. Youths are running out of villages to Kampala. No jobs in Kampala, that’s why you see Kampala is full of confusion. Agriculture is the way forward, no one should lie to you that you can’t get money. Get down work and see if it will not come,” he said.

On some people who say he is about to run out of money, Bryan said he is not going anywhere. “I came with a purpose and cause and that’s what i want to finish, drive Ugandans to a certain direction. People are bigheaded but there is a need to restore sanity and confidence in the population. Ugandans leave rumour-mongering (wolokoso) things and get down to work. Use your heads. The power is with us. Let us work and you will see power coming,” he said.

He advised Boda Boda riders to avoid using terrible, abusive and vulgar words.”  They should avoid things of ‘bya kiyayi’. He promised to give a motorbike to each male youth at a cost of 1m payable in four installments for four months.

“No politician or president will come and bring money to you if you don’t work, you can’t earn. Politicians are using you to get what they want. It is about working because you will never get free money,” he said.

Amidst cheers, Radio and Weasel thronged into action to entertain close to 5000 people who had gathered to listen from the inspiring tycoon.

He donated UGX 15m shillings to people of Mityana. He urged people to form savings group and advised youth to work hard and avoid engaging in unproductive arguments, which lead to fighting. He called for engagements such as agriculture saying it is the only way people can get out of poverty. “Rear chicken, goats, pigs and you will tell me”.

During the exercise, Bryan also donated items to locals worth 98m UGX. The items included mosquito nets, sugar, clothes, soap, salt, beans, posho, rice, sanitary pads, soft drinks, water, biscuits and many others which he said was his Christmas for them.

He had earlier donated a number of items to mothers and pregnant women to Mityana General Hospital as well as 3m UGX to staff of Mityana Hospital. Each lady pregnant at the hospital was given mama kits, mosquito net, basin, cup, soap, sugar to mention among other items.

He added that his aim is to realize a change come February next year. The poverty fight initiative will cover the whole country. He promised that his next visit on his agenda is Masaka district.

“The whole exercise in Mityana cost him UGX 200m, he said.
