Ankole Diocese joins Save River Rwizi Marathon 2024 drive

The Bishop of Ankole Diocese Rt. Rev. Associate Professor Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa has confirmed that the Diocese has joined the drive for Save River Rwizi Marathon 2024 and will be physically participating in the upcoming event.

The Save River Rwizi Marathon organized by Abahumuza Development Group is scheduled for Sunday July 28th 2024 at Mbarara Golf Course starting at 7:00am.

The Bishop on top of rallying the masses to embrace the #SaveRiverRwiziMarathon24, he urged government agencies responsible for environmental protection to deliver on their commitments.

“We express our heartfelt gratitude to the men of God for joining this noble cause, demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship and community well-being,” Mr. Seth Murari said.

He called on the general public particularly those in Mbarara and the surrounding areas to all strive to participate, as River Rwizi is a vital source of water for many, supporting livelihoods, agriculture, industries, hotels and more.

Remember, water is life! Together, we can make a difference and ensure a sustainable future for our planet.

Running kits are already available at selected shops in Mbarara at only 20k per kit.
