Uganda nears 1000 as 16 new COVID-19 cases are recorded

The Ministry of Health has announced 16 new cases of COVID-19 in the country as the number approaches 1000. 
Results from COVID-19 tests done on 03 July 2020, 16 new COVID-19 cases confirmed.
The cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans: 927.
The 16 cases are; 11 truck drivers; 9 arrived via Malaba, 1 via Kerwa PoE in Yumbe District and 1  via Elegu, 5 contacts: 4 from Amuru and 1 from Namisindwa.
In related development, 42 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted.
Active cases on admission: 205 (173 are Ugandans, 25 foreigners and 7 refugees).
Total Recoveries: 868 (Includes both Ugandans and Foreigners)
Samples from Points of Entry tested today: 2,993
Samples from alerts and contacts: 2,140
Total samples tested today: 5,133
