Katakwi General Hospital receives Digital Mobile X-Ray

The Minister or State for ICT and National Guidance Hon. Peter Ogwang has today commissioned Digital Mobile X-Ray at Katakwi General Hospital.

Hon. Peter Ogwang who also doubles as the MP for Usuk County in Katakwi district said he was honoured to represent the Minister of Health Hon. Jane Ruth Aceng at the commissioning and handover of a digital mobile X-ray equipment for TB screening and diagnosis at Katakwi General Hospital.

This advanced X-ray equipment and the use of Gene-Xpert for TB diagnosis will make Katakwi Hospital a high level in terms of identification of people with TB disease. It will also be beneficial in identification of those eligible for prevention therapy.

This Delft Light backpack X-ray equipment uses artificial intelligence to identify individuals that are likely to have tuberculosis in a short time.

“Indeed, I was able to be screened for TB and got the results in one minute. I want to assure you that Govt is committed to ending TB by 2030,” Hon. Peter Ogwang said.
